1. Alabama- Before week one, Auburn was my #1. But after their shaky performance and again realizing it doesn't matter who plays QB for Alabama, we go with the Tide number one. The defense looked great and has no weakness. Coker was efficient, Derrick Henry is a stud, and the Tide have too much talent at wideout to be concerned. However, I don't think Wisconsin is that good. I still think Bama will struggle some.

2. Georgia- Georgia had an easy game against UL-Monroe. Their secondary might be worrisome because Garrett Smith was very efficient against Georgia and Rashon Caesar had a career day. I still have no faith in Grayson Lambert. It's way too early to buy in.

3. Auburn- I watched a good amount of this game and I was incredibly disappointed in Jeremy Johnson. I thought he could be a great quarterback and it's still early, but honestly he should have thrown five interceptions. The running game was solid and the defense is better. But 238 rush yards is not going to get it done. The good news? Carl Lawson looked really good.

4. Ole Miss- An absolute laffer against UT-Martin, the Rebels again looked fast on offense and great on defense. I love their defense, but I'm still not sold on quarterback. Somebody needs to step up. They all looked good, but playing three quarterbacks semi consistently won't work well.

5. Tennessee- The secondary is very concerning, but BGSU is a very credible opponent. The run game could be one of the nation's elite and will give problems for everyone this year. Next week against Oklahoma will prove how could they are.

6. LSU- Brandon Harris is the quarterback and that's a good thing. However, LSU didn't play because of weather so we don't know how they looked. LSU has a tough test in Starkville next week for a first game. It will be interesting to see how they respond.

7. Arkansas- It was an easy game and Brandon Allen looked improved. Losing Williams hurts, because after Collins the run game did nothing but it's too early to be concerned. Not enough pressure on the quarterback however.

8. Texas A&M- It's a very solid performance by TAMU and I think this team can cause some damage. The wideouts are the best in the SEC. I don't mind Kyler Murray getting some playing time, but Kyle Allen is the better option for this team. The defense has some talent, but I thought it was a bad gameplan by the Sun Devils. I'm still not completely sold.

9. Missouri- To start, I had Missouri fifth and drop them four spots. That seems silly after a 30 point win. But Maty Mauk looked bad. Against a FCS team. At some point, Gary Pinkel has to think it's time to move on. They also didn't run the ball well. Attrition might be catching up with them. The pass rush did look good though.

10. Florida- New Mexico State is one of the worst teams in FBS, so it's hard to get a gauge on the team. The offensive line seemed solid and the quarterback play is encouraging. Kelvin Taylor has to be a force for Florida to make noise this year.

11. South Carolina- The most ugly win of the week, UNC should have won by double digits. Connor Mitch looked nervous the entire game, the defense consistently was beaten, and other than Cooper and Carson, nobody impressed on offense. This could be another long year for Spurrier.

12. Mississippi State- Southern Mississippi isn't that good, and MSU really struggled. The losses they suffered are going to affect them all year. Dak Prescott is good but he isn't Superman. Giving up 311 passing yards won't cut it.

13. Kentucky- This was the year. Kentucky was going to take the SEC East by storm, change the culture, put up 6-8 wins and make an impact. And they were taken to the final minute by UL-Lafayette. 33 points? Really?

14. Vanderbilt- LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL

A&M looked real good, much better on D. As far as TN goes I don't think we were that high to begin and we didn't really improve ourselves except that a lot of other teams looked worse than us. I still have us going 8-4, and 5 seems high for that.

jmo, good breakdown

QB will be efficient
Hb will be a Boss
WR will be by committee
OLine will be good but not great
D line will be amazing

Linebackers are the only difference in the two teams . Alabama will be better then ours

Secondary will be talented but young

#9- their starting RB got an ankle injury the second carry of the game and left.

#12 - the announcers mentioned several times that - based on the play calling they were seeing - Miss St looked like they were playing vanilla and mostly trying not to show too much before their game with LSU next week...which was part of what was allowing Southern Miss to stay in it and gave them such an opportunity to make it a game.

You are assuming they are a top 5 worst team in FBS. Based on what? Past performance ? If so I can't rank Tennessee above those 2 teams they can't beat. Obviously if they beat Oklahoma my mind changes.

I'm guessing you don't know much about New Mexico State. They haven't won more than 4 games since 2004. Have had mostly 2 and 3 win seasons since then. They are horrendous.

Okay. So you are basing your rankings on past performance. So am I. I don't get the issue.

Are you saying they aren't a bottom 5 FBS team? If so, are you basing that on?

I am saying I don't know if they are this year. Neither do you. I am not experienced in ranking the bottom of the FBS. I don't know if New Mexico State could beat FIU or Southern Miss.

I do know how the SEC Rankings have shook out though. I tried to rank close accordingly. I am unsure based on this performance if Tennessee is finally better than Florida or Missouri.

Great addition to the discussion.

What discussion? All I see is a kid that is just fresh out of college that thinks he is smarter than a bunch of people on a forum. Care to share with me, you mastermind you, why that tennessee is 9th in the sec based on seeing bits and pieces of games? Or are you just trying to get a rise out of us so you feel big and bad behind your computer monitor?

So how do you have Ole Miss above Auburn, LSU, and Arkansas based on past performance?

Well I didn't rank LSU because they didn't play..so you can eliminate that. Ole Miss has lost more than 2 years in a row to Arkansas and Auburn? If so then I missed that memo and I apologize.

I explained it based on my rankings. They are mine. You don't need to agree. You can put Tennessee #5. You can even feel froggy and go #1. I don't care at all.

I wish I was fresh out of college. Those were some good days though. Let me tell you that.

So LSU drops because they didn't play?

Beating a team more than 2 years in a row now?

You're all over the place bud.

So does past performance matter or no? If so, you can't possibly have Ole Miss over Arky and have any credibility.

I can disagree. I can also infer from your fine tuned rationale that you put tennessee 9th based on seeing bits and pieces of games. It would seem that a person from another teams forum that would give an unbiased response would be careful on how they would place the forum's home team. At the very least, he or she probably wouldn't rank the home team in the lower half of the conference based on a fairly good performance, while denying other considerable points about other games.

You are a troll kid. Get lost.
