1. Alabama- Look, I get Arkansas is down and stuff...but 52-0? Dear God. This year's team has the potential to be better than last year's team. Lacy and Yeldon are a nasty 1-2 punch, and they have the best O-Line I've seen in a long time. Oh, the D is pretty good too.

2. LSU- Another ho-hum performance against a weak team. They have the best stable of running backs in the country and the front seven is probably the best in the country. After the USC debacle, the winner of the Alabama-LSU game is going to win the SEC and most likely the national title.

3. Georgia- Bad first half after an emotional game happens, and they blew out FAU in the second half. They got 100 yards each from Gurley and Marshall. Who knew the Isaiah Crowell loss wasn't a big deal at all?

4. Florida- Will Muschamp gets a huge win for his program. Jeff Driskel looks like the future at QB, and UF can run the football very well. And that defense has the potential to be top ten. Florida has a decent chance to win the East this year.

5. South Carolina- Dylan Thompson, come on down! You're the next contestant on "Can Steve Spurrier find a QB while at USCe?" Shaw was hurt again and has "no idea" if he'll play against Mizzou next week. I gotta say, I like the strategy by Spurrier to continue to give Lattimore minimal carries and save him for the long haul.

6. Texas A&M- What? Am I crazy? Maybe. But the Florida loss is looking better, and they held a June Jones offense to only three points AT SMU. Manziel looks like the future at QB, and TAMU has some talented skill players. This team looks better than advertised.

7. Miss State- They played a great first half against Troy, but that second half was lackadasical and inexcusable. Tyler Russell continues to improve, but the D cannot give up 572 yards to Troy. That just can't happen.

8. Tennessee- What a tough loss for Dooley and company. UT got slaughtered in the second half by UF, outscored 27-6 in the second half. UF had 500 plus yards against UT. The run game is still a concern (or lack of commitment against it). UT might improve, but right now, they look like a 7-5 team.

9. Mizzouri- Because it was late and during other games, most people don't realize Mizzou beat a pretty decent Sun Devil team at home. That's not an easy win, especially without star quarterback James Franklin. That's a good win for Gary Pinkel and crew.

10. Auburn- The last five teams in the SEC are flat out bad. Auburn got lucky against the Warhawks and barely pulled out a win. Auburn finally ran the ball, but that D is worse than I originally thought. Prediction: Auburn doesn't make a bowl this year.

11. Arkansas- We should have an award named after John L. Smith. The criteria? Seeing how fast a team can quit on you. Congrats to John L. Smith for coaching three career games at Arkansas and having your team quit on you just like that.

12. Ole Miss- Hugh Freeze's team is going to put up some points this year. That high octane offense is going to give some team fits. Too bad that defense is a mess.

13. Vanderbilt- Can't really make much from their win against Presbyterian. Austyn Carta-Samuels had a nice debut for Vandy, but he's not the answer. They'll get sacrificed against UGA next week.

14. Kentucky- Congrats to Joker Phillips on ruining all the good the underrated Rich Brooks did for the UK program. Bobby Petrino, come on down!

Miss St still hasn't played anyone. They beat a bad Auburn team at home and only beat Troy by 6 on the road.

1. Alabama (3-0): Hannibal's elephants have nothing on Saban's. What a massive wave of destruction. They will face a tougher challenge this week in FAU than they did against Arkansas in Arkansas. This Week: Alabama 42 - FAU 0

2. LSU (3-0): Doing it with defense. LSU is quietly keeping pace with the nation's best team. They vandalized that team from Idaho and will beat the stripes off of Auburn this week. This Week: LSU 59 - Auburn 14

3. Florida (3-0): Maybe Florida is a run-first team now...nah...but that is their best bet to win this season. This Week: Florida 45 - UK 9

4. South Carolina (3-0): D.J.'s suspension is a big hit...not a helmet-to-helmet hit...but a big hit nonetheless...still the USC defense is the second or third toughest to play against in the SEC...In SEC play, defenses set the tone, offenses shut the door. This Week: USC 38 - Mizzou 17

5. Georgia (3-0): UGA's scrimmages end this week as they begin competition against a game Vanderbilt squad. UPSET ALERT. Expect to see UGA ranked much lower next week This Week: UGA 21 - Vandy 27

6. Mississippi State (3-0): I honestly cannot care less about Miss State. This Week: Miss State 52 - South Alabama 3

7. Tennessee (2-1): I thought Tenn was better than they showed against Florida. I was wrong. But it will be bombs away on the Akron Zips This Week: Tenn 42 - Akron 24

8. Missouri (2-1): The old men will teach the young whippersnappers about respect. It will be a long year for the newbie. I wonder if they already paid for their ad in The State? This Week: USC 38 - Mizzou 17

9. Texas A&M (1-1): hmm...Texas A&M should be higher but they have only played Florida. Don't tell me about the University of South Carolina's schedule, I know. This Week: TAMU 35 - SC State 10

10. Auburn (1-2): The Tigers avoided a miserable start by sneaking past Louisiana-Monroe in overtime. This Week: Aub 14 - LSU 59

11. Ole Miss (2-1): Ole Miss does not play defense. UPSET ALERT This Week: Ole Miss 21 - Tulane 28

12. Vanderbilt (1-2): Vanderbilt can take a HUGE step up this week. Don't let me down Vandy. UPSET ALERT. This Week: UGA 21 - Vandy 27

13. Arkansas (1-2): So Arky gets beat by a Sun Belt team, then they get beat like a Sun Belt team. Arkansas has given up. They do not have any pride. What a difference a coaching staff makes. Can they be fired before the season ends? They are certainly not coaching at this point. UPSET ALERT This Week: Arky 24 - Rutgers 21...yes I know what I said and I meant it.

14. Kentucky (1-2): Western Ky....Really?...Western Ky?...and you got Florida at the Swamp next? This Week: Florida 45 - UK 9

Wish I had your confidence about USCe. I am afraid we will get exposed this week.

At this point, I would probably have to move LSU below Georgia. Games have been alright considering the competition, the Washington game

LSU is losing players in bunches now.... latest is Alfred Blue I heard ACL/MCL but Les has only said he is not available this week and Mingo might be out for a few games (unknown).

Other injuries Loston and Wright but they might be back this week.

LSU is down 15+ guys that were suppose to be on the team but are not due to injury, suspension, transfers or NFL.

After this week at Auburn I think we will have a better understanding of where LSU is at.

I would say this is my biggest disagreement with those rankings as well. They've yet to beat anyone worth a damn.

I'm buying the MSU hype for some reason. I probably shouldn't, but I think Russell can lead them to an 8-4/9-3, which would be a good year for MSU.

Their schedule really isn't difficult. They have 2 sure losses and 3 more tossups.

First time I've ever seen a south carolina fan use that "e" but from the little i've read you never seem high on sc at all.

It's nice to be a realist but he needs to live it up a little. jmo. This is the best period in USCe history.
