1. Alabama (LW: Same)- Alabama wants revenge and the general consensus is that Nick Saban will get it. There is no doubt going against a Nick Saban team coming off a bye week is a tall task, but Alabama better hope they don't get in a shootout with TAMU, especially if Texas A&M runs the ball like Virginia Tech did in week one.

2. LSU (LW: 3rd)- Zach Mettenberger is in sync, the run game is solid, and the defense still has elite talent. It was a ho-hum performance against UAB last week. We will know a lot more about LSU after their September 28th game at Georgia.

3. Texas A&M (LW: 4th)- Texas A&M's offense might be the best in the SEC, and Manziel looks just as good as last year, while the run game is explosive. The question is the defense. Yes, two plays was a big reason why Sam Houston State had 400 yards of offense. But should that matter? No it shouldn't. They better hope they can contain T.J. Yeldon.

4. Georgia (LW: 4th)- Aaron Murray has one of the monkeys off his back as he played a damn near perfect game against rival South Carolina, but that offense goes as Todd Gurley goes, who I think is the best back in the country. I'm still not buying the defense however. They gave up 454 yards of offense and 6.3 yards per pop in the run game. They might be the best team in the East, but they are not close to having an SEC championship caliber defense.

5. South Carolina (LW: 4th)- I thought South Carolina did not play that bad against Georgia. They just ran into a hell of a player in Todd Gurley, and they contained him, only allowing 4.5 yards per carry. However their back four is not looking like a solid unit, and the pass rush is not consistent enough. Murray had all day to throw.

6. Ole Miss (LW: 6th)- The Rebel Black Bears went up 31-0 at halftime against Southeast Missouri State and called the dogs off in the second half for an easy victory. Ole Miss has a big opportunity to beat Texas this week with Mack Brown in limbo. If they can beat Texas, nine wins is not out of the question, which would be a great season for Hugh Freeze.

7. Florida (LW: 6th)- I wish I could move Florida back further, but the rest of the SEC is so bad that Florida only drops one spot. Jeff Driskel doesn't seem to be the answer and the offense has no rhythm. The defense played well last week, and they will keep Florida in every game. However, Florida's offense, at its current state, will not get them to Atlanta right now.

8. Tennessee (LW: 9th)- Tennessee beat a 2012 bowling opponent that improved its coaching staff and has a top ten offensive mind in the game by 32 points. Sure, seven turnovers is fluky as hell, but the run game is solid and the secondary, while not a lot of depth, has some playmakers. However, that front four is not athletic enough to compete on an every down basis against the elite of the SEC.

9. Auburn (LW: 10th)- A lot like Tennessee, Auburn beat a solid mid-major team and handled them. Auburn is going to run the ball a lot and do it well this season, and Nick Marshall is getting more comfortable. But Arkansas State completed 29 passes for 272 yards. This back seven is not going to get the job done.

10. Mississippi State (LW: 11th)- They played much better than Arkansas against their FCS opponent, so we are going to give the 10th spot to the Bulldogs. Mississippi State has to be happy putting up 600 yards without QB Tyler Russell, while the defense gave Alcorn State hell. However, take out a 44 yard run, and Mississippi State averaged 4.4 yards per carry against Alcorn State. That's not a good sign.

11. Arkansas (LW: 9th)- Maybe Arkansas isn't a bowl team. They went into the 4th quarter tied against FREAKING SAMFORD. Yes, they lost two fumbles and that always makes games fluky, but good teams protect the ball and they did not. Arkansas needs to execute better.

12. Vanderbilt (LW: 12th)- Vanderbilt was up 38-0 after one half and called off the dogs. Austyn Carta-Samuels had a nice game and the D played extremely well against an over-matched Austin Peay. Vanderbilt needs to play well against South Carolina to build confidence this week.

13. Missouri (LW: 13th)- One thing on Missouri. They ran for 172 yards on 44 carries, with their longest carry from a running back going for 12 yards AGAINST TOLEDO. Good luck, Gary Pinkel.

14. Kentucky (LW: 14th)- Mark Stoops gets his first win as the new head coach in Lexington. Say what you want about Kentucky, but they are going to score some points. They put up 675 yards. FREAKING KENTUCKY. That at least is somewhat impressive, right? Okay, maybe not. However, I expect Kentucky to improve throughout the year. Stoops has them ont the right track.

Not going to disagree with that analysis. I'm wondering about the Ole Miss-Texas game this weekend (hoping for an Ole Miss win) and how it could move them around the West.

Remainder shall be seen this weekend/next week when SEC match ups start getting more frequent.
