As much as I would like to see it...............an undefeated season it was out there.

Anyway I wonder what kind of respect we would get if we do lose to OK State. If we beat OK State which I think we will what do you think the SEC record will look like? I think a win at OK State and above .500 record in the SEC will buy us a spot in the tourny.

Above .500. Barely. The SEC doesn't have any great teams but a lot of decent ones. So it will be tough to play in still.

Tennessee has a chance to go above .500 this year. If for no other reason that the SEC is down this year. And tennessee plays harder than most if not all other SEC teams. There are some upsets in the making.

UF and Kentucky are the only real competition. Beating one of those pretty much insured above .500. I think we do good and go above .500 in the SEC.

Yes, the SEC is down in the sense that there are no powerhouse teams. The SEC doesn't have any real contenders to make it deep into the tournament right now. But what it is full of is teams that play the roll of spoilers, some decent teams capable of big games every now and then but all are sorely lacking in some area of the game. This means it will still be a difficult going for Tennessee in the conference.

I think you got to call florida a contender by now. funny you call them overated, but if we call usc overated we are bias to the pac-10. so now are you bias to the sec cause florida is rolling right now..

Ok Florida can go somewhat deep in the tourney... They are a Sweet 16 team, maybe Elite 8. But I doubt Florida is a Final Four team. They are good, but are they UConn, Duke, Villanova good? Other than that, the SEC is just mid-level.

And aside from that, I still called the SEC a tough conference. I didn't go off on endless, idiotic badmouthing SEC basketball like others do to Pac-10 football.

A .500 SEC record might get us in the NCAA tourney especially if could suprise a Fla. or UK.

Bruce Pearl got under Tubby's skin at SEC Media Days, so I woudn't count on the Cats overlooking them. Pearl said something to the effect that he was aiming to beat Kentucky this year, to which Tubby replied, "Get in line. We wear that target every game."

:devilsmoke:

The Cats may not overlook the Vols, but it will definitely be a good game, especially if we don't play good defense against the 3.

If you're going to finish above .500 this year, win 'em all at home, and take a handful of them on the road.
