My son used to play it all the time at football games when he was in band. He was capt of the drumline and he had his line tight and that song used to rock for sure
I don’t wanna sound like an old fuddy duddy know it all, but LSU playing neck on special occasions - knowing they are gonna in trouble for it - is as much a part of SEC lore as is hotty toddy or rolling toomers…. I was there the night they pulverized clemmer in 19 for the title in New Orleans….the band director (who was going to retire anyway) was fired- they cranked that up with a minute to go and the whole super dome was singing it- it was simply beyond comprehension …. And the tv replays show the announcers trying to ignore it while obviously very amused
as TN "SEC Shorts called those clowns out at the beginning of the season and their insight and commentary have been SPOT ON!" - clearly they have someone reading Volnation
It only got up to #40 in the R&B Singles charts in 1984. The album and title track "She's Strange", peaked at #1 on the R&B Charts. I was a baby at the time so it was completely out of my view.
