The SEC's inspector general conducted 33 probes of employees looking at explicit images in the past five years, according to a memo obtained by The Associated Press.

Seventeen of the employees were "at a senior level," earning salaries of up to $222,418.

The number of cases jumped from two in 2007 to 16 in 2008. The cracks in the financial system emerged in mid-2007 and spread into full-blown panic by the fall of 2008.

Bush government at its finest:

(1) Hire inept employees to not regulate. (a hands-off philosophy, or at least one hand off)

(2) Employees watch porn instead of regulating.

(3) Blame the corresponding financial crash on government regulation.

There was failure and blame across the board. It does make me wonder how long these guys had jobs though and what they were supposed to be doing.

As the current chief of staff points out.....the SEC does not work for the POTUS. This is a fail.

Remind me why all of said necessary regulation didn't exist under Bush's predecessor?

Number (3) is absolutely ridiculous, as it's the mantra of the idiot currently inhabiting the oval office.

I found it interesting that the article only said one of these people were forced to resign. Apparently all the others are still employed.

Government jobs at their finest.
