I am going with 5.

I think I will be able to predict with much greater certainty who will get in by December 20 or so, but for now I will just state the number.

Hatvol and Lofton43 and others I would like the number you predict in this thread.

I will work on the assumption that the 'AA eventually clears Sidney. SEC gets 4: MSU, Ole Miss, Tennessee and Kentucky. Vandy is on the bubble, no one else gets that close.

i would say 4 is a pretty good number to shoot for with the possibility for 1 more

As of right now, I would leave MSU off and just have UT, UK, and possibly Ole Miss.

They are much more athletic than normal for a Vandy team. I look for them to be there at the end of the season.

If Ogilvy continues to play like a girl, they will continue to rely on Memorial to win games.

I would say 4-5. UT, UK, Ole Miss and Msu. Teams with chances on the bubble are Vandy, UF, and SCjr.

fyp, because that is the only way that happens.

hahaha.

Thanks for all the responses. I tried to make a thread that was shorter to start with.

My five right now would be TN, Kentucky, Ole Miss, MS State and Vanderbilt.

I do think it is possible one more team from LSU, Alabama, South Carolina, Arkansas and Florida has a great year and ends up getting in, while I would be shocked if Auburn or Georgia got in.

wouldn't be surprised if BabyUSC found a way to get hot and make it in. Throw them in with UT, UK, Miss and I think we get 4.

Four or Five. Kentucky, Ole Miss, and Tennessee of course. I have a good feeling that Vanderbilt will go. Mississippi State, maybe.

Vanderbilt last night beat St. Marys on the road. Big win and their best player on paper Jenkins has not gotten hot yet.

South Carolina handed USF their first loss of the year and advanced to the final of their tourney in Charleston where they will face Miami on Sunday.

Alabama got a good win when they beat Providence by 9 at home.

Arkansas is intriguing. A freshman Marshawn Powell scored a ton of points for them from the forward spot, but with the team reeling from a suspected rape and tons of suspensions they had a walk on missing 2 free throws to allow overtime against Appy State. They won the game, but when you are grateful to escape with a win against a program like that is it tough.

Ole Miss got a win that I think will hold up as very good against Kansas State. They beat them by 12 on the road.

Florida pounded Troy which does not tell us much of anything. They get to try to beat FSU on the 24th.

Auburn continued to suck losing to UCF. It seems like a lifetime ago, but does anyone else remember the envy of Lebo as Peterson lost recruits to him and the one guy we took that they wanted in Jordan Howell ended up doing nothing?

Overall as I put in the other thread http://www.volnation.com/forum/tenn...8-sec-opportunity-respect-ooc-games-long.html the SEC has tons of chances for national respect in the next week or so.

Why would you be shocked if Auburn or Georgia got in? Remember we are talking about all the great teams in the SEC. South Carolina was beaten tonight by 15 by Miami. M-State has lost to some poor teams. Ole Miss does look good at this point and Vandy has a chance if they improve as the season goes on.

The results of tonight do not change my position at all. South Carolina was in that game closer than that final score indicates. I think they are in that bubble group.

Vandy picked up the St. Mary's win on the road since I posted. They have been winning with no help from their stud freshman Jenkins.

M State has to get Sidney eligible. Everyone who knows anything about basketball has discussed that. He should be back in the next two weeks with the recent talk from his lawyer and all documents turned over.
