I like UTs chances of getting past UF whether Tre Mann is back or not. As inconsistent offensively as the good guys have been, I just don't see them shooting the 3 as poorly as they did Sunday. The key for going further will be which Fulk and Pons show up. imo
I'd say the lowest 3 seed is our absolute ceiling (overall #12). 7 seed being our floor. But I've long maintained that the selection committee doesn't even pay attention to the SEC championship on Sunday afternoon (unless a team wins it that wouldn't have gotten an at-large). There have to be thousands of things they have to do to get the bracket finalized and over to CBS, so anything they can do prior to Sunday helps them. I just don't think what we do on Sunday affects our seeding at all. So, that being said, I think realistic ceiling is a 4 seed.If we win the whole thing and say we beat UF, BAMA, ARKANSAS ---- what seed could we get? What's our ceiling? It would give us 3 more wins over quality opponents and put us at 20-7. High 3 seed?
If Tennessee wins the SEC Tournament i think they will be a #4 Seed if they lose i think they will be a #5 Seed.If we win the whole thing and say we beat UF, BAMA, ARKANSAS ---- what seed could we get? What's our ceiling? It would give us 3 more wins over quality opponents and put us at 20-7. High 3 seed?
I voted quarterfinals loss (which is completely against my normal nature) but I'm not sure which Vol team will show up Friday. It's just so hard to tell. I fully think there's four or five teams that could win the championship including the Vols. But being judgement day honest I think it'll be hard to get past probably Florida. Tre Mann will be back too which will pose it's on set of problems. Of course I'll be right there pulling for the Vols as usually.
In watching a lot of tourney games, the last day or two, teams that have struggled a little, look to be hitting stride. Duke, North Carolina(I see you walker Kessler), Kentucky looks to be playing better. Maybe a lot of the young teams, or teams counting on young players, will hit another gear in March this year? Basically what I’m saying is, springer and Johnson go buck wild and the Vols are cutting down the nets in Bridgestone in Sunday!Calipari and Kentucky know their only way to the NCAA tourney is to win the SEC tourney. I think they will show up for the tourney and possibly even take Bama out. I'm picking us champs in a rematch vs. LSU in the finals.
