Hope everyone stays safe making the trip. I've never been there but a lot of people have told me how dangerous that city can get from block to block. Either way, GO VOLS!!!!

Just stay on the main streets and around the crowds and it's fine. NO is no more dangerous than any other big cities.

Yeah, NOLA seemed no worse than any other city. I might have driven through some rough spots, but I can't see it being bad for tourists. I actually love it for a vacation.

Last time I was there was in late 1990 early 1991. Yes, it has been that long since UT was in the Sugar Bowl. Like others said, stay on the main roads and with your group.

There is trouble to be found anywhere if you aren't aware. Just don't pass out in a Krystal.

If you are single, drunk, and looking for love, you best check for an Adams Apple.

Had a guys trip years ago and one in our group was hammered and mugging in the bar with a "girl". We let him continue for a couple of minutes.

Never been to Memphis, but from what I hear compared to what I experienced in New Orleans, I would say better, possibly much better. And I've been there twice in the last two years, but only for weekends.
