I know it is probably slim but what needs to happen for us to make Hoover this year?

I definitely wasn't expecting it this year..anyone but Serrano would probably be fired after the season..team is terrible at defense and even untalented teams should be able to field their position at this level

Too close to have a basis for making predictions.

I'm not convinced SC or Bama is safe yet.

Our schedule looks as manageable as any of the five teams competing for the last three spots.

If we avoid being swept either of the next two weekends and win 2 of 3 at home vs. MS State, we're in. That's not a very high mountain to climb.

Sure hope the Vols are in Hoover! Regardless, I have my tickets & hotel reservations. Best sports bargain around if you love to watch great baseball. :clapping:

2 of last 3 series are at home.
We are already tied for 12th and final spot with the team (MSU) we play at home the last weekend.

Mississippi State's last home series is this weekend. So they close with two on the road at Ole Miss and Tennessee w/ #1 LSU in Starkville this weekend. If LSU sweeps, MSU will have a tought row to hoe in the last 6 games.

From behind, UGA also has two home series remaining with Florida and Arkansas and a trip to UK in between.

To finish 12th (ugh) we only have to outperform MSU by one game in the last 9 and break even with UGA. UGA has the tiebreaker obviously but have played one less game due to rainout. So a tie is not likely anyway.

Alabama is 1 game ahead of Vols and So Carolina is 2 games. But the Vols obviously have tiebreaker.

Technically, (although unlikely) the Vols could finish as high as 10th.

SC has two home series but a rip to aTM in middle. They close with #2 aTM and home vs #1 LSU

Although limping in for sure, Tennessee could win 3 games and still finish 12th. Doesn't make them necessarily good. The Vols have shown more life lately than South Carolina, Miss. State and Georgia. The god-awful performance in Lexington not withstanding.

If Vols win 5 of last 9 they could get to 11. 6 and they may get to 10.
