How long before the SEC has a full time tv network like the B10? It would allow them to go after any new addition to the conference because of the tv money and bring us even more West Coast publicity for recruiting. I know the SEC already has major tv deals with ESPN & CBS which is probably the issue.

My guess is they're waiting a bit to see how much success the Big 10/11 get from it. Its a pay network on Comcast in Nashville and I'm not shelling out money to see some Northwestern v Indiana gymnastics show. Sure there's a few fb games that would be nice to watch, some bb too, but that's a small window.

Ask yourself this - would you pay to see Vanderbilt v Arkansas women's field hockey?

They already have one. It's called ESPN.

A SEC Network like the Big 10 Network was one of the options the last time around when they decided to take the CBS/ESPN deal as the conference viewed it more profitable. If the conference does expand (state of Texas anyone?) the TV deal would be tweaked based on the markets of who was brought it. That's why with expansion you are not going to see Ga Tech, Clemson, etc.

If it ment I got to see our games that aren't on national tv I would pay for the network. True I could careless about gymnastics or hockey but the many football and hoops games you get would be worth it.

I think pretty much every SEC football game is shown under the new deal. A few very weak non-conference games may be relegated to local PPV and ESPN 3 (fka espn360.com), but that's it.

I get the Big 10 Network on Comcast in J'ville by paying $5 a month for a sports package. I didn't pay the $5 b/c I wanted the Big 10 in particular though.
