Midweek:
Nothing huge
Ole Miss exchanges home games with Tiger High
Georgia goes to Atlanta to play Georgia State
Aggies play at Rice

Weekend
SC's tough start continues w/ Vanderbilt in Cola
The biggest series are Tennessee at Mississippi and LSU to Florida

Vanderbilt at South Carolina (Thur-Sat)
Tennessee @ Mississippi
LSU @ Florida
Georgia @ Kentucky
Arkansas at Missouri
Alabama @ Mississippi State
Auburn @ Texas A&M

Amazingly, only the Saturday game between Tennessee and Ole Miss will be on a broadcaster as the other two will be ESPN/SEC+

Three SEC teams (Tennessee, Vanderbilt and Arkansas) remain undefeated. That will obviously change this weekend. All three swept home series.

Three teams are winless of course (Missouri, Kentucky and South Carolina) Those three teams host this weekend.

Early surprises?
Mississippi State SUCKS hard. Someone in Mississippi sold their soul at a delta crossroad apparently for that title
I don't think there has been a positive surprise yet. Maybe Tennessee who everyone outside the program thought was destined for step back.

Let's talk Match ups: Burns against Ol Miss... I like UT's Chances due to his stuff being so good. If Burns is around the plate, it could be a long night for OM. Not sure how good their Friday night guy is. Their Line up can hit but I don't foresee them hitting Burns and i think we hit their guy. Actually them being a Swinging line up plays into Burn's Hand.

Sat: Their guy had a rough outing the last time out , and so did Dolly , when UT went on the road. So this one will be interesting as well... I give the nod to UT. Dolly will need to be able to locate and keep runners off base. The offense may need to hit in this one. Interesting to watch this one. I think the Friday night game will add pressure to OM, if UT wins Friday night. I don't see UT having a lot to lose in this series.

Sunday: I give the nod to UT as well. I honestly think UT makes a statement at OM. Beam might give up some too but i think his stuff is good enough to get through 5 and turn it over to the pen....which hopefully will all still be intact and not be to taxed.

So I predict a series sweep based on my visual and study. Oxford will be a fun place to play and difficult place to win but something tells me this team is geared up for the task. Just my thoughts, I think playing in Omaha and Houston this year has helped this team be prepared for the SEC. Experience will show up this weekend. Time will tell...is it friday yet??

They play 5 games this week. The staff walked 20 guys last weekend, 12 on Sunday. We walked 3 the whole weekend. They can hit. Gonna watch their Friday guy in a bit.

Thanks for the Scout!!!

I am surprised that Tennessee does not get more SEC conference games televised on the SEC Network.

We just don’t have a historically big baseball following. I think the SEC Network is just playing the ratings game, and they know that the Mississippi schools, LSU, and Arkansas will drive ratings many weekends.

That said, I think our success will continue to force their hand!

I forgot about Elko. Oof. Jacob Gonzalez moved into the 1 spot for the series against Auburn, he’s a freshman, passes the eye test, the numbers back it up. 90% of their offensive production returns this year, so lots of experience.

Friday (Thursday) night guy, a lefty, gave up a two run shot (to #17) in the B1 that still hasn’t landed. Not over powering but location seems to be his thing, breaking ball is good. I don’t think it’s a great indicator of what he can do, Bianco knows what’s up, he wouldn’t be there if he had somebody else he trusted more, right? But Auburn was up 4-1 after 2 innings.

All I got time for right now. Should be a good series.

The broadcast crew for Saturday was only slightly better than the SECN+ crew, Friday and Sunday. Great broadcasts all weekend.

FTR, Gonzales is a SO who was starting SS last year as a true FR. D1’s national freshman of the year last season.

Most of them are sorely lacking on the knowledge of the teams they call. I wish I had a cool job like that, that I don’t even have to prepare for; just show up, watch baseball and wing it.

He started all 67 games at SS last year as a freshman. One weekend don’t mean much, but they got some dudes. I’m no pitching expert but based on what I watched, I like what we got. Might turn out to be a slug fest, but my inclination is it will be a close series. Hope I’m wrong and we hit on all cylinders.

The PAC12 has a weekly Sat-Mon series. The SEC needs to do that.

start 2 series on Thurs.
3 series on Friday.
2 series on Saturday

give fans 4 days of conference series

I also wish the SEC could have 2 game midweek series against the teams not on weekend slate. But that would be tough on pitching.

The Commentator also said that no one in the Country had that special of an arm this year. Not watching the same games I am , but did say that Tennessee was #7 and might be the best Of all them. But you could tell he was solely basing that on rankings….. very few people in that line of work seem to even watch the games …We can play with anyone!

Maybe they pull it off, but I’m not sure I’d be calling for a road sweep against a top 5 team. Ole Miss hits .310 as a team and gets a lot of walks and HRs, but they’re pretty low on doubles per game. I’d say the key for the pitching staff is to throw strikes and try to limit the baserunners so you aren’t dealing with multi-run HRs. I’d expect 8-5 type games all weekend.
