May be the best weekend of ball so far:

Thursday
South Carolina 2 Florida 3

Friday
LSU 6, Arkansas 2
Miss St. 3, Texas A&M 2
Missouri 5, Vanderbilt 11
Alabama 0, Ole Miss 6
South Carolina 3, Florida 4
Georgia 3, Auburn 4
Tennessee 4, Kentucky 5

Saturday
LSU 3, Arkansas 8
Missouri 1, Vanderbilt 12
Alabama 2, Ole Miss 5
Georgia 7, Auburn 1
Georgia 4, Auburn 8 (Tigers win series 2-1)
South Carolina 5, Florida 14 (Gators sweep)
Tennessee 10, Kentucky 9
Miss St. 9, Texas A&M 3

Sunday
Tennessee 5, Kentucky 0 (Vols win series 2-1)
Missouri 4, Vanderbilt 16 (Vandy sweeps)
LSU 5, Arkansas 3 (LSU wins series 2-1)
Miss St. 15, Texas A&M 4 (Bulldogs sweep)
Alabama 3, Ole Miss 4 (Rebels sweep)

so,

Gators sweep Gamecocks in the big series of the weekend. Florida is finally getting themselves together.

Rebels sweep the Tide and are coming to Knoxville next week for a dose of class.

Auburn wins the cellar series against UGA 2-1.

Vandy crushed Mizzou. Leads big in division that all the sudden looks fairly pedestrian.

A&M is now struggling. Even at home.

Has Vandy put up a hundred on MO yet?

Our failure to sweep that terrible Mizzou team may come back to haunt us. Perhaps the Friday night game against UK we let slip away as well.

As it is, we hold the tiebreaker against Mizzou and still have UGA left to play in 3-weeks.

Winning that series should leave Vols in good position for tournament. But there's no reason we can't get ahead of Auburn team who has to play Mizzou still but has nothing but difficult other than that.

The remaining UT SEC Schedule: vs. #21 Ole Miss, at UF, vs. UGA, at #8 Arky, vs. TAMU

UGA Schedule: vs. #3 Vandy, vs. #8 Arky, at UT, at #10 USCe, vs. UF

Mizzou schedule: vs. UF, vs. Auburn, at TAMU, at Bama, vs. #14 UK

Auburn schedule: at #16 MSU, at Mizzou, vs. #21 Ole Miss., at UF, vs. #8 Arky

** UF will probably be ranked after their sweep of SC...

***NCAA Rankings

I like our schedule better than either uga, or auburn and we beat mizzou head to head...we have a legit shot at Hoover.

Florida's record is still kind of shoddy due to the terrible start. they may be ranked but not that high.

Mizzou's kids have to be shellshocked by now. They threw in the towel against Vanderbilt (the got chastised for foreign substance on the rug)

For whatever reason, the Vols (even some of our bad teams) have done well in Gainesville.

for once, I would like to avoid a final weekend showdown. The Vols are atrocious in that situation. A 4-game lead over the #13 and #14 teams would be nice.

it would be nice if Tennessee could finish several games over .500. Improvement in bullpen would be the prerequisite .

I agree regarding UF, however they've won 5 in a row, 8 of their last 11.

Mizzou has played a tough schedule and it lightens up a bit for them in the second half...still they have dug themselves a deep hole, they don't seem to be improving...sort of the opposite of Tennessee who have played an equally tough 1st half and seem to be getting a bit better for it.

I agree, it would be nice for us to use this momentum, and pull away from the cellar...Ole Miss at home might be the ticket.

First up, it would be nice to avenge the early season loss to Va. Tech. They were swept by UNC this weekend, NC State last weekend and beat , lol, Longwood in extra innings in between.

Kendall Rogers just tweeted UF will not crack the rankings this week, as I expect BA will do as well. Watching them play Vandy here in Nashville, it was apparent to me that they are a very good team that just hadn't broken through yet. They'll be in the rankings before the season is done and they will give someone serious fits in a regional.

florida has been tinkering with their lineup and pitching staff all year. either players in and out of the lineup or people moving up and down the order.

there have been a couple of injuries that really caused problems this year.

i don't know good these guys will be when they are all grown up or if they are going to need a boost from next year's recruiting class (my guess), but they are starting to play better ball.

however, the talent level is not near where it has been the last few years.
