Does that put Vandy at 1-6?

With a bullet.

They are a young team but that can only explain part of it. No way even a young Vanderbilt team should be swept at home by midlevel Pac12 Oregon.

Vanderbilt has their easiest week this week hosting LaTech and Rhode Island. The next week is the last pre-conference week where they play at tough Belmont and host a good San Diego (not the Padres) team that has done well this weekend in cross-town tourney at SDSU beating big time Oregon State team as well as Pacific. After that they play the color Siena and go to Florida for a sure 0-3 SEC start.

Vandy's SEC is schedule (in fact) is extremely top loaded. Without far better play. Vanderbilt may 1-8 or 2-7 after three weeks @ Florida, Georgia and South Carolina. With 2 home dates in those 3 weeks, that means they will play some weaker teams on road.

Sounds like the opposite for UT's schedule. If I remember correctly ours is extremely difficult towards the end.

So not a surprise they are losing to teams that aren't cupcakes. They had to play Stanford on the road.

Had in them losing all these games means nothing if the Vols can't win more division games.
The UG Dawgs lost a lot of games early last season, and had a major turn around.
