for years to come. In what other conference can you be ranked 7th nationally in recruiting and finish 5th in your conference? On the flip side, the SEC is home to some of the most delusional fans in America. Witness the post from an Auburn fan on Rivals:

When Auburn finishes with
Cam Newton - 5* QB
Corey Lemonier 4* DE
Marcus Lattimore 5* RB
Jeff Whitaker 4 * DT
Mike Thornton 4 * DT

Auburn will be in the running for the top class nationally. Texas and bammer have a chance but Auburn is finishing to strong

i tried to get on cockytalk but the site I saw had NOTHING to do with college football.

Yeah it is not going to be pretty for the rest of college football for about 5-7 years. They are going to have to catch up and it is going to take them a while. Sidenote: I think Cam Newton would be a good fit at Auburn. That being said I hope, if he does go there, that would beat him down on every play.

Auburn will fall back in their slump just as soon as Malzahn get's his head coaching job he so desperatly wants..

I'm not sure why there is so much hate for Auburn. The OP quoted someone off an AU site and the prediction for closing out our recruiting class is a very real possibility. I'm not saying we will get all of those guys but we are high on the list of all of those guys. The USCe guys do think they will get Latt and I wouldn't be surprised one bit if he stays at home. I think FSU will get Lemonier but his friend that commited to you guys said we led for him. We will get Whittaker and have a good shot with Thornton or Jones from Ark.

Anyhow, we aren't going to end up with the number one ranked class. We will easily be in the top 10 with a good shot at a top 5 class. There is nothing delusional about that.
I live in TN and so I'm surrounded by UT fans and I tell them all I see UT as Auburn of the SEC east. Both schools have great tradition and had a down year last year. Both schools had holes in the same areas. Both schools got new staffs that are quickly turning each program around quickly. There is much to applaude Kiffin at UT as there is Chiz at AU. I am an Auburn fan. I visit various boards for info and to get everyone's take on this and that as it is interesting to see each teams fans beliefs and built in bias (Auburn included). I joined here to make a comment. As an Auburn fan they are my main concern and always will be much as Tennessee is yours. However, I view Tennessee in a good light for a few reasons. Number one we both hate Alabama and this will not change, I hope you dominate them every year, much as they hope Georgia beats us every year. Number two we are in separate divisions meaning most years we can only play in the championship game. I really do not care what any individual thinks and nothing I read here or anywhere else will change my views. Good luck with your recruiting class and I sincerely hope that both Tennessee and Auburn meet many times in the SEC championship game in the near future putting Alabama in it's place along the way...

Well said, Droxside. We can appreciate those with realistic views of theirs and other teams. We all have our homers. Auburn, more than most regarding recruiting simply because you have some of the worst homer mods on any site nationally running your Rivals site.
