I know FAU wasn't a traditional series at miss state but they are for real. Were close to hosting a regional a year ago and are 4-0 after today


I would also say ga southern is a higher profile better team than memphis.

It's never easy to dissect a teams future performance off of opening weekend however Auburn, Miss State and Missouri each losing 2 games is promising for us.......

Didn't really get a chance to follow much this weekend due to my wife still being in pre-season mode and scheduling an out of town event however on the surface it seems that we did "okay" this weekend. Looking at the box scores and a few threads from the games, committing errors will cost you tremendously.....

What is telling is how many of the SEC teams lost the last games of series against lesser competition. That speaks strongly about early pitching depth.

Of course, I'm concerned that Kyle is still not ready to be a weekend starter myself. He has the "stuff" in spades to succeed, it's just that one hiccup by him or a fielder behind him knocks him off track for an inning.

Me too. Typically, over the course of his collegiate career, his max has been three innings, even in the Cape.

I'm sure he feels like he's got both he and his father's weight on his shoulders, but he has to find a way to forget about it and just have fun playing baseball...easier said than done I guess.

It's too hard to know how anybody will be after the opening weekend. The 2014 Vols started 12-0 and then went 12-18 in SEC play.
