Reeves-Maybin was one of the SEC’s better special teams players, with a vast majority of his tackles and one huge punt block (for points) coming in the game’s third area. Reeves-Maybin impacted games on special teams. He was hard to block. He made plays. He embraced it. He was special.

Now Reeves-Maybin is set for a new and more difficult set of challenges, but the good news is he’s gotten at least a little bit bigger, and he’s an enthusiastic hard worker who’s humbly but confidently embracing the challenge. His teammates like and respect him, and they think he can make plays on defense to help this team win games. His coaches agree. He isn’t big, but you don’t see him getting run over very often. He’s a football player. He finds ways to get guys on the ground. That, in short, is what defense is all about.

It's a good sign when a talented player comes in first year, understands his role and embraces it by becoming that unit's best player. Nobody out hustled this guy on special teams last year. I can't wait to see what he can do in a starting role.

That's what you took from that article?:birgits_giggle:

I've known this. I paid for GV247 for awhile, but gave it up earlier this year. I'll probably resubscribe for fall camp, I just can't stand the discussion. Half of every article's discussion is "great article, Wes" and things like that. Bottom line, he has decent insight and knows a lot about the program, but his writing is awful. If the Sentinel ever hires Wes Rucker I'll stop subscribing to that online also.

We are gonna be a speed based defense and he is going to be a big part of it. Speed , speed and more speed.....we may end up being the smallest and fastest D in the SEC. I can see some upside to that. Cant freakin wait.

I keep telling everyone that folks will be shocked at how improved these second year and even EE guys are going to be from last year. Our D will get pressure and push, our secondary will be improved and our QB to WR setup will catch people off guard. We need Croom to step up this season, Weatherd needs to be here, and Pearson has to be ready since opposing D's will fixate on North and Malone. Our O line is the only position I see us needing stability with this season

I feel like Croom has the potential to outshine some of the more popular receivers this season. A lot of it just depends on someone stepping up and proving themselves to be a solid QB.
