Since we need all the help in our secondary we can get and since Lanier is no longer with the team, and since the one time Gray was on the field this year it was obvious he is not ready. Will we see more from guys like Deion Bonner, Geraldo Orta, Nazier Oliver, and Tino Thomas.

Oliver, I highly doubt will get much playing time...Bonner is a true talent, but can be immature. Orta, Thomas and Gray are all those types of guys that need a year or so in a system before they can contribute.

We also have to remeber that it is hard to accurately assess any defensive position players/units, since our defensive scheming was so poor...Some guys maybe a little better than we think (under a good DC and scheme...)

we need more like Toney. Kid was converted and was all over the place last year. Saw him close by almost every time a tackle was made

I could care less if we started true freshmen at the corners. As long as they are burners. We have been lacking speed there for years.

This, these guys were lost this year!

Here's the deal and its very elementary.... if our new secondary coach will just simply teach our DB's that after 5 yds to turn their heads and start tracking the ball like all the other DB's in the SEC, we will see instant improvement. I didn't miss a game and I can't honestly tell you one single time I saw one of our DB's actually turn his head for the ball...

When did Lanier leave the team?
As far as I know he'll be back next year. Secondary has some talent just needs to focus on the right kind of conditioning.

This might be the Coach Klein from Waterboy coming out in me..I might just be hoping he can visualize the attack.. I would like to see Eric Gordon used as an outside linebacker every now and then to blitz. I think it would work. He can't cover well but he's a playmaker and a good tackler.

A pass rush will help our DBs as much as anything. It's hard to cover anyone when the QB is comfortable in the pocket and has time to pick you apart.

I saw this as well. I think a good defense will get after the QB early and often. There were a lot of spot-on throws that made the db's look bad, but just think back. How many opposing QB's had dirt on their jerseys?

I think almost all SEC QB's can make great throws when they are not being harassed, and not even being worried about being harassed. That was by far the biggest problem, in my book.

I've been yelling "TURN AROUND" for years!
