I'm glad that people are this generous but a $900 layaway bill for one person seems kind of excessive. Maybe she had a bunch of kids.

Awesome!

It's a slim chance the person that did that reads this, but a heartfelt thank you.

That's a great story. I just read about another situation in New York where a guy walked in and paid off $50,000 for the remaining layaway balances in a Walmart. There are some really amazing people out there.

It's called living way beyond ones means. With that said, what this individual did is remarkable and a great example of generosity.

There is little to no way of confirming this. I worked in retail for years. Layaway totals were astronomical, but for a lot of people, layaway was simply people's easiest way to hide gifts.

Didn't think of it that way

We would have a cut off of around the 22nd or so to have everything out. Our layaways nearly quadrupled at the holiday season. On the 15th we would still have about triple the amount of say July. But it was mind blowing how few things we would have on Dec 23.

Is there a way I can find out which Wal-Mart will have this secret Santa next year? A friend of mine wants to put a few thousand dollars worth of stuff in lay-away in hopes that Saint Nick may arrive.
