I think the fact that all of these lower seeds are pulling upsets is proof positive that the committee didn't know what it was doing.

Thoughts?

No its just that everybody in the tournament is good.... people think just because somebody is a 13 seed means they're bad its not that they just play week talent but still can ball its not the lower seeds aren't good its the higher seeds are just as good.

could be... but i think it's probably more reflective of the parity this year in teams outside the likes of Kansas and Kentucky.

Such is life in the 1st round of the NCAA tournament. This is just what happens when there are no real dominant teams and a lot of pretty good teams.

there is a large list of seeds that were WAY too high and WAY too low.... i dont have 30 mins to name them all

well...I think all of the suspect seeds, Vandy 4, UF in the tourney at all much less a 10, ND in over VaTech, were bad seeds in horrible brackets so....But not really anything super surprising outside of Gtown getting dumped.

Or does it show that they know exactly what they were doing? Granted that means that they overseeded/underseeded some teams, but upsets are what the first round is all about and boy are we seeing them.

Won't find me complaining about some highly thought of teams having their tails handed to them. Good games thus far. Should only get more exciting.

Ohio was a #13 for a reason. They finished 9th in the regular season in the MAC. Do you REALLY think they should have gotten a 8 seed because they got hot for one weekend? MAYBE the Big Least is a bit overrated?

This is a result of all the stars being one and done. The mid-majors keep seniors around and they are experienced and older. That is a great equalizer come tournament time.

no they were seeded correctly... if not a little high

but nova as a 2 is a joke, wisc as a 4 is as well, temple should be a 3 at worse, we should be a 5 at the worst, etc, etc etc....

Your right about that it reminds me of when we almost got upset by Belmont my heart was in my throat thank goodness for Chris Lofton.

Thus far there haven't been that many big upsets.

Plus, as other posters have noted, once you get beyond the one or two seeds every team has its vulnerabilities.

I know there are upsets, but this many on the first day? It would be interesting to know when the last time this many higher seeds won.

Mostly I guess I think there are some of these higher seeds that were "over-seeded" like Georgetown, Notre Dame, Villanova, and maybe even Vandy.

I guess my surprise at our 6 seed has me being very confused about how the committee made their decisions.

exactly...
over the course of a single 40 minute period, a B+ and B- are very close....

Things like this happen every year, people just have short memories.
