To each and every young man who chooses to suit up in Orange & White (and sometimes gray), I want to say that I'm thankful for you. You make me proud each week because you give your all for Tennessee. Win or lose, Alabama or Austin Peay, I'm proud of my team.

For you Seniors and some underclassmen playing your final game for Tennessee...some of you playing your final game ever... I'm especially proud of you. You came to this program in the midst of turmoil and you stuck with us even when many abandoned you. Nothing you will face in your professional career should phase you because you've already been to the bottom and had the mountain come down on top of you. You dug yourselves out. You pulled your teammates up with you. You made yourselves stand tall so that the next generation of Volunteers could stand on your shoulders. Please be proud of that.

Tonight against Kentucky, never look at the scoreboard. Ignore the ticking clock. You have one more chance to play football for the University of Tennessee. Embrace it. Savor it. Enjoy it because you will remember it forever. Whatever happens when the final whistle blows, you're already winners. Thank you for all your hard work and for wearing those beautiful orange jerseys! Go Vols!

It is always easier to coach up a blank slate than to deprogram years of bad habits and a loser/quitter mindset....so I agree with you totally on that one...with no disrespect to the VFL's that went through the Kiffin/Dooley disaster for their careers here.

I feel, like a father watching his son play T ball. He's not very good, but I hope he does well and support him and encourage him.

IF UK puts 7, 8, or even nine men in the box, we're screwed. We can't win if we have to rely on our passing game. But, I encourage our players and support them.

My hat is off to the seniors on this team! They probably had to endure more adversity than any class at Tennessee. I am grateful they stuck it out for the pride of this program! There were a lot that gave up but tonight you are looking at a group of seniors that EARNED my respect! I hope the entire team rallies around the seniors and takes all the frustration out on Kentucky!

THANK YOU SENIORS AND GO BIG ORANGE!
:)

Well we thought that against Kentucky two years ago when we were embarrassed by Kentucky. Thought the seniors wanted to go out on top??
