In the third and fourth quarter yesterday with the Lady Vols still down single digits, it was impossible to not think about how many times Pat would methodically cut into the opponents lead, somehow tie the game and then win going away. Yesterdays foe was no mystical group of superior athletes and the inability to run correct defenses and call offensive plays appeared to have been left behind in Knoxville.
Holly has to take the responsibility for this team's poor performance for the talent on the court was too similar to lay blame on the frustrated Lady Vols.
Holly, do you have it in you to resurrect this program?

We know the obvious answer, don't we?

I though Vivians was the best player on the court yesterday. She put her team on her back and did what needed to be done to ensure a victory.

She had a better supporting cast and the zebra's no calls also helped. We left a lotta points on the floor esp at the FT line.

Holly just let them dribble the ball around the court. No offense.

Interesting sentence...a statement or a sarcastic directive?

"No offense"... a statement or an apology?

Yeah, I know it's two statements, but you have to admit the English (American) language is fun:).

After yesterday's game I'm grasping for any levity :ermm:.

Your are 100% correct and that has been a issue all year long and this is all Holly fault. Anther issue that no one talks about and why Tenn is this position is the coaching style of Holly she will not whole any single player accountable for there poor play during the game. At one point Reynolds and Cooper was so all she did was throw her hands up. And when she did take them out she said nothing not one word to them. A good coach would have jumped in there face one on one and chewed there butt out.

I saw a 6'6" post player playing 15-20' away from the basket.

Summit had the horses, Holly does not

That is horse 💩. Seven horses, more than anyone on the top 5 teams, except UCONN? How many horses does it take? Isn't it time to look at the head horseman who could not lead a team of thirsty horse to a lake in front of her. You can't just have the horses, you have to have the ability to coach them. What we have is a headless horseman.

This where you fault the coach you don`t let one player beat you make her pass the ball. And let someone else try and beat you. Dawn Staley will make the someone else try and beat them. MS has no other player that can hurt them other then Vivian SC will win big.

I agree with this post! You can see the good coaches giving guidance and talking to their players and teaching them when they come out of the game and sometimes while they are on the bench and the game is going on and still talking to them to teach them.

Calipari: HAS SOON TO BE PROFESSIONAL BALL PLAYERS AND MILLIONAIRES (SOON TO BE) But if they make mistakes..... they are coming out of the game!!! and when they get to the bench.... they get a mouth full of direction!!!!

AND HE STILL GET THE NUMBER ONE COMMITTS OUT OF HIGH SCHOOL!!!! THEY KNOW THEY WILL GET TAUGHT THE GAME AND HE WILL HELP THEIR CAREERS!

The kids coming out of high school know what they will get if they come to the University of Tennessee in womens basketball.....

Ok... here is what I saw. Timeout called, interview with Holly...

What will you do to get back in this game Holly?
We are going to go to our strength, and that is to get the ball to the forwards under the rim. We just need to figure out how to get that done during this timeout.

After that timeout... the dribble contest started. WTF was that?

Let's stop talking about Summitt. She's been gone four years. Time to look ahead.

The talk of Pat Summit is in reference to good coaching. If that is offensive than I guess I will have to start some PC UT Lady Vols Blog. Wait, Dave Hart abolished that Blog. Heeeey, are you Dave Hart??

Once the forwards and centers saw a remake of the last time we played Missy, they kinda shutdown. It was the "here we go again" factor.

This doesn't happen to "other programs".... Their coaches come up with creative rules to enact e.g.. a four dribble rule.... If you dribble more than four dribbles and the last one isn't going straight for the rim, it's "pine-time". . .

For this age not to play take-a-peek basketball is sad.

It seems to me that Draya's and Reynold's dribbling was not an issue originally when they came to UT. It has been taught to them--perhaps to give the other players time to get in position? It appears to me they have been coached in this direction, since it is NOT what they came to UT doing.
