Dear good friends in the Nation,

I need some help if somebody can help me out. For the Vols games I've seen in the past I've been fortunate enough to come in on a company bus and have never had to worry about parking. Now I have tickets for the Kentucky game where I will have to drive in and find parking. My problem is my wife has a very bad knee and can't walk much more than 1/4 mile. She's never seen a game at Neyland although we've seen the Vols play on the road a few times. I got the tickets for her for her birthday. My question is...can someone in the Nation put me on to some parking fairly close in and how to get there from I-40 West. Early arrival time and $$$ (if not exhorbitant) is not an issue.

Or.....does anybody know if the tour bus line still runs the shuttle from Pigeon Forge to Neyland on game day and if they do how do I contact them?

Mods: If this thread is in fthe wrong forum, please move it to the correct one for me.

Thanks in advance.

If you have a handicap parking pass, you can park right at the stadium I believe.

If you don't, you can park at the Knoxville Civic Coliseum and take the shuttle right to the Stadium. It drops you off, and picks you up. It's also, just off of I-40, and I think is 10 or 15 bucks.

Have fun, hopefully you'll be seeing a very healthy, hungry Vols team that weekend, as they prepare for the SECCG!!!!

Kat still runs shuttles from the AG campus to the stadium... I dunno how viable that option is for you, but then you can get right on Alcoa and hit 40 from there...

I looked at Arclight's link and there's no charge to park on the AG campus for handicap tagged cars, and the shuttle is free as well. May just be an issue of getting there early, and not minding a wait to get out.

Thanks a lot everybody for all thje information. This trip is for her and she's very excited about finally coming to Neyland. Sshe loves the Vols as much as I do and her bum knee is the reason she hasn't come before. When I got the tickets she was concerned about having to walk a long way. We do have a handicapped tag so that will help. We'll probably try the AG center. When I showed her your responses to my post , well, I wish I could have taken a picture of the grin she had on her face and posted it for you guys to see. It's a dream come true for her. Instead of having to watch a UT game I'm at on TV, she'll get to spend her 59th birthday in Neyland yelling her head off for the Vols. And believe me when I say YELLING! She's not your typical bluehaired old lady. Again, thanks so much.

Well wnc, you're the one that put the smile on her face, we're just trying to help you make the experience as amazing as it should be! Good luck with the shuttles, I've never taken them. BTW, I think it goes from the AG campus to Circle Park, so there is still that rough hill down to the stadium, so you two be careful. :)

Good point. For someone with a knee problem, the shuttle from the Coliseum might be a better option. It stops directly next to the stadium.

WNC:

You might want to look at and save the below web page. I know you guys might be limited as to mobility but try and make these two pre-game events. They occur real close (outside) to the stadium.

1. VOL Walk

2. Arrival of UT's The Pride of The Southland Band at the stadium. "The salute to The Hill."

Get there really early and find a place on the street in Fort Sanders.

I generally try to do that. If not, good luck finding a cheap place to park.
