Here's what CNN/SI's Seth Davis had to say about BP being National Coach of the Year...

Is Bruce Pearl still your national Coach of the Year?

"Well, UNC's Roy Williams is obviously closing in fast, but I will say this: Pearl is definitely my national coach of the last two years. Not only did he resurrect Tennessee from the moment he parachuted into Knoxville, but his former team, Wisconsin-Milwaukee, also won the Horizon League tournament for the second straight year. A good coach doesn't just excel at his new school, he leaves his old one in great shape. (Come to think of it, you could also make a pretty good case for Williams as national coach of the last two years.)"

Unfortunately, I agree that Williams has closed in fast, but I still give the nod to BP. I know UNC lost their top 6 scorers from last year, but they have an awesome crop of freshman and BP is using all of Buzz Peterson's retreds.

I sure like our "retreds". They sure play with a tremendous amount of heart and they do give their all for Tennessee. Way to go "retreds" we love ya.
