The NCAA has contacted each school recruiting the nation's top-ranked high school basketball prospect, Shabazz Muhammad, and made them aware of financial dealings that could compromise Muhammad's amateur status, multiple sources have told CBSSports.com.

The sources told CBSSports.com that the NCAA is specifically interested in connections between Muhammad's family and financial advisers Benjamin Lincoln and Ken Kavanagh. Lincoln is a North Carolina-based financial planner whose brother, Geoff Lincoln, is an assistant coach for Muhammad's high school team in Las Vegas. Kavanagh is a New York-based financial planner.

Muhammad's father, Ron Holmes, acknowledged to CBSSports.com in multiple phone calls this week that he knows both men and has been questioned by an NCAA investigator about the relationships. Sources told CBSSports.com Lincoln paid for at least two of Muhammad's unofficial visits to college campuses and that Kavanagh has helped fund Muhammad's summer team, the Las Vegas-based Dream Vision Foundation. Holmes, who has hired legal counsel to assist with getting the NCAA inquiry resolved, confirmed both statements as true to CBSSports.com.

Cal needs to end all contact and move on. This kid's just another asterisk on a season.

Schools like Memphis, Arizona and Louisville have all pulled out of his recruitment after being contacted by the NCAA about his amateur status. It's not a suprise the schools that are still after him.

UCLA- THE pre-eminent ADIDAS school. Bazz is rumored to already have an ADIDAS contract when he gets to the Association.
UNLV- Because they're a smaller school and have to take chances on questionable guys in order to land top recruits.
UK- Because Calipari will recruit guys like Kanter and Bazz, then act shocked and offended when they dont qualify.

Benjamin works for LPL and Ken works for morgan stanley. Ken has a complaint about unauthorized trading in his clients accounts, a no no

I mean, they're still a great program, but Bazz is a once-every-few-years type of player. If you're UNLV you don't get that kind of guy unless you're a blue-blood program, or he's got red-flags all over him.

I think Noel is ours, but I could be wrong. If thats the case, I'll take Poythress and what we have (and probably one more commit) and call it a day.

Shabbazz's Head Coach is the brother of unlv head coach Dave Rice.

This NCAA news means the kid is a Rebel lock.

UK= 11 first round picks in 3 years (after the upcoming draft). Most kids these days have no admiration or respect for the past in this "what have you done for me lately" world. Ya never know.

Cal will sign shabazz (I hope) and get the wildcat program torched..and then he'll leave another shatterd program..
