Shane Beamer breaks foot after Florida loss

Beamer has to be one of the biggest clowns coaching in CFB right now.

In that clip above, I think he catches himself that it looks bad at the end of his 60 second rant where he does nothing but publicly blame his players, but I thought that was an awful look. If you want to say that after the game in the locker room to your team, or during practice/team meetings the next week, that's fine. But that's coaching malpractice 101 to publicly blast players. Isn't "praise publicly, critique privately" management 101?

What a clown. I get the impression his act is already starting to wear thin.

Them not winning enough games is starting to wear thin. He's always a clown and they embrace it when he's winning, but like any coach he only takes heat for it when he isn't winning, and publicly blaming players for mistakes, win or lose, is never a good look.

The impression I have is that decent chunks of their fanbase thought he should have beaten us again, and they definitely thought they should have beaten UF the other night in Columbia. They're pretty upset about the last 2 losses, and they're staring 2 more losses right in the face the next 2 weeks (@Mizzou, @A&M).

Beamer is just a walking pile of cringe. Fans don't care about any of the imperfections, annoyances, or odd behavior if the coach is having success. He deserves credit for finishing strong last year with the two big wins over UT and Clemson followed by a competitive bowl performance against ND. I didn't expect them to be great this year but at least good by gamecock standards (7-5 ish). They probably don't even make a bowl at this point. Beamer gave the game against UF away last week with a horrible meltdown in the last 5 minutes at home. That loss was most likely the difference between 5-7 or 6-6. It will be interesting moving forward to see how long SC fans support Shane if the season continues to go down the drain.

I still fail to understand the fascination Gamecock fans have with Beamer.

He's such a tool
They don't have a great history of success. Heck, SC has one SECCG appearance with Spurrier and they were destroyed by Auburn. 8 wins is a success in Columbia tbh.

Yep. They are actually a worse program historically than many think. In the history of the AP Poll (began in 1936), they have finished ranked just 9 times, and a single coach (Spurrier) brought 4 of those.

That is a definitely a reflection of how good Spurrier was and SC was lucky to snag him towards the end of his career.

Well that’s certainly not going to make its way to every current and prospective Carolina commit….

There also was a generational group of in-state talent in SC in the late 2000s/early 2010, and Spurrier managed to land basically all of it (Lattimore, Clowney, Gilmore, Jeffrey, etc.).

The unfortunate thing for USCjr right now is that even if an extremely talented crop of in-state players came up again, most of them would go to Clemson or UGA. That is a very difficult job because it isn't an easy place to win, but their fans start getting upset if you don't win 8-9 games a year. Even though those are unreasonable expectations.

They were turning on him last year until he pulled two Top 10 upsets against us and Clemson. otherwise they were looking at a very forgettable season last year. I think the success at the end of last year is biting them in the butt this year with raised expectations. Not sure who else is on their schedule, but I think they have played their two marquee games already. Even though Clemson isn't ranked that may be enough to salvage the season and opinions at the end of the year if they can win it and start their own streak. always good to close the season with a win, especially over a rival.

Yes, if you are USC Jr., beating Clemson is valued like 3 wins. Beamer seems to be in good shape with most USC fans. I have no idea how their biggest boosters feel about him. But if he beats Clemson next month, I think he’s still pretty solid with fans/boosters, if his mouth and antics don’t hurt him further.

I’ll hold my nose and give USC Jr credit for one thing- they play two legit P5 teams in non conference this year (UNC & Clemson).

They are 2-4 and play at Mizzou and at aTm the next two weeks. With UK & Clemson also remaining, and even Vandy & Jax St are not given wins, their chances of a losing record this year are good. And I hope to be here for it!!

i am not sold on Mizzou yet. I think they are a solid team, but at best third in the east. we won't sleep walk and win over them, but if we show up prepared we will win.
