Did anyone see him on TV say that he knows who the new Bama HC is and that he cannot give a name but it is a coach who has won a Ntl. C-ship? I did not see it but I heard it second hand on the radio. Finebaum said it on his show. I normally would not listen to the guy but it's awesome to hear the Bammer callers in a state of confusion.

This is a list of coaches who have won a national championship. I highlighted all the coaches, I see as having even a REMOTE chance.

Looks like he could be referring to Saban, if you believe Spurrier is staying put.

Bobby Bowden
Dennis Erickson
Jim Tressel
Larry Coker
Lloyd Carr
Mack Brown
Nick Saban
Pete Carroll
Phillip Fulmer
Steve Spurrier

RETIRED

Jimmy Johnson
John Robinson
Johnny Majors

I'm starting to think it might be Coker. I don't know why. Just a hunch. Many of Finebaum's callers are hanging onto Spurrier.

Guys it will either be Rich Rodriguez or Paul Johnson. And if the national title thing is true then I say Johnson since he won a couple Div. 1-AA titles at Ga. Southern. I look for some sort of announcement Monday after Navy plays Air Force and WV plays Rutgers.

Wow, Dennis Erickson could be a thought. Wasn't he on Bama's interest list once before?

I'm surprised Alexander found time to stop talking and complaining about Holmgren not giving him the ball enough for a chance to lead the league in rushing to make a comment about something else.

Its gonna be ...

Bobby Bowden.

Which opens the door for Richt to Fla State.

Ps. my source is myself on my 3rd glass of jack.

Nah, I genuinely think Erickson is biding his time, watching over the hill from Idaho waiting for Oregon State to give Riley the boot. It almost feels like Riley is doomed short of 10 wins per season, and Pac-10 titles every year.

If we are pegging Oregon State coaches Mike Riley is more likely then Erickson.

Riley was in the running before (either during the Price hire or the Shula hire).

Leavitt from South Florida was in the same mix.

If they took anyone like these guys (especially where they were when being considered) there would be a full-on freakout in the Bammernation.

Yes it was when Shula was hired plus his name is Mike, what a fit.
