Shocking..GA Football

At what point will the SEC step in and say enough is enough. There have been over 20 of these. Think of how many haven't been caught or the cops looked the other way.

Clearly, the school doesn’t care.....

The simple truth is that until Kirby gets serious it's never gonna stop.

Sitting a player for a throwaway game doesn't really do much.

In the end though, the programs are kinda limited what they can do unless things are bad enough to kick him off the team. These days, even that may involve a lawsuit from the player.

Downside of giving 18-21 year old kids a million dollars man. First thing they are gonna do is buy the fastest car they can find Can't say I was not and still am not guilty of that myself though.

Agreed. Kirby has to lead here. His AD and President dont have the power/will to make him change.

This level of stupidity is still largely a UGA thing. When you have more of these than the rest of the SEC combined....

I do understand the sentiment, but I mean Tuggle and Easily are suspended indefinitely after this. What else should Kirby do at the moment? Kick them out of school and ruin their future prospects even before litigation?

That’s fine as long as it doesn’t get whitewashed like the Jalen Carter situation. Sooner or later Kirby has to make examples of some players by kicking them out or it will just continue.

I don't think the critique of Kirby is with respect to what he's doing or not doing in the moment. As you said, there isn't much he can do today other than suspend them.

The critique of Kirby is more of a long-term thing where he keeps recruiting knuckleheads to do this type of thing, or allows a culture to exist where this kind of thing isn't taken seriously. How many serious driving-related incidents have occurred after they had a player and staff member killed in the drunk driving/racing incident? When there is this kind of volume of incidents, doesn't it have to fall on the coaching staff at some point?

No suspend them a game. It’s that easy. It would stop it.
Honestly I think it comes down to the types of guys they're recruiting. Kirby has claimed in press conferences that they've taken NIL money for guys, hasn't seemed to work. That staff seems to recruit a ton of players who not only think they can just do whatever they want, but don't care when they get popped for it.

I can understand that. I think the issue there is that Carter should have probably been in legal trouble “real trouble”, but Kirby is not likely to push for that. It’s a tough situation for everyone, but you gotta stand by your players in that like it or not.

Sure he should have been in real trouble but both Smart and the authorities did the 3 Blind Mice routine and that’s why it keeps happening. Carter got to play and then go to the NFL like nothing happened. (Other than a guy dying.) Until someone down there gets tough on them, it won’t stop. If players are committing crimes, you absolutely do not have to stand by them.

That’s not what I meant at all. Surely you can understand the difference. Things aren’t always black or white so to speak.

This does not get fixed until the Money (NFL and NIL) starts punishing them. And does the Money care?

They're pretty much employees now in all but name only. How many of us in our lines of work would get canned for a similar infraction unless we're a Dominos delivery person?

Actually....pray that no one in your family (or you) get injured, crippled for life, or worse KILLED by this felonious act that ALWAYS is felt in severity when horrible MVA's occur. It is sickened to witness some FOOL (make no mistake that's what they are) hyper-speeding, wrecking, and totaling destroy life! Putting a FOOL behind the wheel of a hi-performance vehicle is classic "death waiting to happen".

Makes no sense. Just a complete disrespect to Coach Kirby, IF in fact laid down the law like he said he did a while back.

That makes what, 10 incidents involving speeding, alcohol, or car accidents over the past yr?

At what point does the university get involved?

Over 20. Again, who is going to tell Kirby to get his team in line? The AD and University president arent. They saw what happened when the AJC tried to call him out on it......

Ultimately, noone associated with the Univ of Georgia gives a sh-t about this as long as the number of football wins exceeds the number of deaths....
