OK. Give this some thought as you're comparing peanuts with coconuts. First off Senseri came into Knoxville switching the whole scheme from a 4-3 to a 3-4. He came in as a LB coach and moved to DC for the first time...never had a track record as a coordinator. Second, Franklin had no say over Shoop with his defenses. Nada. Third: The 43 defense requires the DTs moving the O-linemen out of the way of the LBs (opening gaps) so they can make the plays. Minus Shy and Mac and Danny, there weren't any fellas aside from Vickers with enough SEC beef to open those gaps. Further, LB bench warmers just won't have the anticipation and SEC ability to fill whatever gaps might miraculously pop open. With zilch for pressure on the opposing QBs, the secondary fellas (who were also left with only bench warmers) were forced to play chase all day while the QBs could pick and choose among every one of their options. Running lanes were easy to make against these guys. Posters on here keep mentioning teams like UF and Vandy and whomever else who'd lost some players, yet still won some tough games, yet seem to be deaf, dumb and blind to the fact that team 120 has just gone through boatloads more than those teams did; one of the most catastrophic injury plagues that any team has gone through in NCAA history. Shoop will show you negas and the rest of the sports world that he is, indeed, one of the brightest defensive minds in the game today. GBO! AMIRIGHT?
