I say this with a heavy heart because my dad went to Vandy and so im not trying to hate on them. But when we all think about it, it is not fair to have vandy in the SEC. not only do they have to compeate with us in tn for the scraps of tn talent.. they have crazy academic standards... i think vady would fit in alot better even maybe in the ACC...or maybe the academic conference with brown and yale and etc...

i know they probably would never leave bc of money...but soon or later their little fanbase wont take it anymore and they will be playing in a empty stadium... what do you all think?

who would you replace them with? i vote texas AM..

I don't think they fit in the SEC. Their football program should be in something like Conference USA.

I swear you create some of the most incoherent, stupid threads I've ever seen. It almost makes my eyes bleed from the lack of punctuation.

Someone else will only take thier place as the SEC's whipping post.... I feel you, though...

As far as football, I see where you're coming from. But Vandy's one of the finest universities around and at least they can play basketball, unlike South Carolina. Vandy actually offers more to this conference than some other schools.

I can't believe how many people want to take a near-guaranteed win over an in-state rival off our schedule. And, Vandy is competitive in other sports.

Vandy helps prop up the GPA and grad rate of the conference. That's why they'll never be asked to leave.

Well if your feeling him I would hope your a GIRL because two guys feeling each other is quite creepy  No, Vandy should remain in the SEC...They are a charter member and paid their dues to be in the SEC...they suck in football but are great in academics and in case you hadn't noticed they have whipped our butts lately in mens basketball.

I cannot see them ever wanting to leave but their fanbase is dwindling. Most of the actual alumni who attend the games are grey hairs. The student attendance is awful. The frat houses host parties for returning alumni on gameday and almost all of the active students will stay at the house and watch other games on TV rather than actually attend the VU game. Most of the people in the stands are either folks who work on campus or at the hospital and get discounted tickets or people who just want to see a little SEC football live without having to drive 3-4 hours. The latter groups can be finicky and I think that once VU loses its "sidewalk alumni" they are finished in the SEC.

vandy may not belong in the sec, but they definitely do not belong in the ivy league

well i know that would be harsh... but i dunno, it just seems like a drag that they are the punching bag every year.

i mean they dont even have a athletics department...

UF and Vandy have very similar admissions requirements. Vandy isn't anywhere close to an ivy league school.

Vandy isn't going anywhere.

And they only get killed in football, they are at least decent in most everything else including womens sports (lol).
