I had some conversations earlier in the year about how this team was playing at the top of their game and probably didn't have the ability to play much better. I think we are seeing this team play more to their talent level lately. I don't think Pearl's new system is surprising anyone anymore. Let's face it, what we have seen to end the season is more of what we expected to see all year.

I know we are all let down after the loss today. So, the question is, should we be let down or should we just be happy we were able to overachieve early in the year? We won the East and made the big dance.

Like I said before. I'm just happy to have a team to cheer for this year. I usually just cheer for anyone whos playing Duke. Sure, its disappointing. But its better than not caring like previous years. At least we got a chance to care this year.

I won't forget the highs of the season - I think we've felt like an underdog consistently through the season even when expected to win.

Tourney is still to come. I'll reserve judgement until it's all over. Even then, I bet I still look at this season as an upside surprise and be very optimistic about the future of Vol B-ball.

Let down..absolutely. All the talk towards the end got me pumped and afterwards sayin WTF over.

But your quote puts me back to reality and makes me sit down and STFU.

CONGRATS to the SEC East Champs.

Got to be happy. We're 21-7 and ranked 14th for cryin' out loud. Sure, I'm disappointed, but to let this loss ruin our season's body of work, thats ridiculous!

We crushed Texas, swept Florida & Vandy, beat Kentucky at Rupp.

Lets rewind to October. Who would have even guessed we would have had this much success?

Even if we lose next week, which is quite possible given our recent performance, I'm still ecstatic with the season. So many fun games and great wins. How can you not be happy with this?

I'll be happy, after either a first or second round loss next week, in a week or two when I realize what all good actually did happen and come out of this season. Sure, it sucks now after riding high for a few months, but when it's all said and done, this was one hell of a season.

Just my opinion . . . If you feel let down, I think it's your own fault for having creeping expectations.

For those of us who have objectively evaluated this team all year, there's absolutely nothing to be "let down" about.

I am as upset over the loss as anybody but come on. I mean CBP got more out of this team than anybody could have ever imagined.... I am proud of what this team did achieve and even though we didn't win today and have struggled the last couple of weeks....don't get discouraged and look at the big picture the future is bright...I mean wait for 2 or 3 recruiting classes and look out. I'm always a little let down when the big orange drops a game, but I don't feel let down about this season and what Pearl and our basketvols have accomplished. We still have another game left and who knows, we could have more than that.

I'm actually looking forward to next year too. We have a good class coming in and it should interesting to say the very least.

It's all good at this point and time. I didn't ask for this much at the start of the season. Let's just enjoy the NCAA Tournament and be happy we got there this year.

i felt let down, I drove to Nashville down and back for it, and payed $200 for tickets to see that mess, I definitly feel let down. Its a great, great season but I still feel let down, because we had hope this year.

Are you as of objective about Fulmer?
Admittedly not. My antipathy toward UT's head football coach is well documented. That aside, my perspective on the UT team is this. I've been fortunate to see 47 different college basketball teams play this year. From a personnel perspective, UT is barely in the top half. What they have accomplished is remarkable. The fact that this team's weaknesses are now being exposed should surprise no one. The amazing thing is that it has taken this long.

I am going to try to be optimistic about UT after the game today, though its hard. Despite the pitiful game today, we have had an exceptional year, one that we have experienced in a while.

Sorry to say it, but your sadly mistaken and you will find that out when tourney time comes here. I think we stoped playing once we got the sec east locked up. I mean seriously, what were they playing for anymore? we already have a really good seed locked up, all our players are injuried, and they probably figured lets not play with this intensity untill tourney time comes around. watch them to run all the way to the elite 8

I just don't buy that. If that were the case, CJ Watson wouldn't have been talking about everyone being depressed after the game today. He said that was as down as he has seen this team this season.

The only way this team sees the Elite Eight is as a group of spectators.

:D Tenn. has had a great season this year. Played way above their skills. Team has worn down over the season.

Hey. if you told any of us in preseason that we would be 21-7. win the SEC east. and beat UF twice you would have had us doing cartwheels!! However, some of us could see thru the the Orange sunglasses and see our weaknesses: no post play, poor inside defense etc.. It was just a matter of time before teams figured how to beat the press, throttle Lofton and whip us on the inside. Naturally when a few of us pointed this out in pre-slide posts we were labeled as pessimists, Bammers and worse.

Next year we will experience the opposite feeling. WE will struggle at first, start to jell by mid-year and finish strong and possibly go deep in the SEC tourney as the young guys mature. You'll see!!

Absolutely agree!
I do think we have an outside shot at the sweet 16...Odom even said that he thought us playing teams that weren't as familiar with us would be to our advantage. We'll see...
