...there were plenty of (legit) doubts when he left the broadcast booth and went to Az State, but he has done an amazing job so far, capped off by the takedown of Oregon. Not much pub out there, since it is the Pac12, but he deserves much credit for making that program relevant out there. Well done, Herm!

I couldn't believe it when they hired him as I thought he was a downgrade to Todd Graham. Boy, was I wrong...He has done a fantastic job.

I thought it was a crazy hire I mean Herm had been out of coaching since what 2008 and out of the college game since 1990 or something. He has been a great hire so far.

They’re the exact same as they were before Herm showed up. They beat #5 Washington the year Graham got fired. They lost to UCLA. They went over a month without even holding a lead. Simmer down here

He’s done better than I thought, but yeah it’s not like they’re reaching new heights.

I wouldn't get too excited. He's balanced good wins (at Cal, Oregon) with bad losses (Colorado, at UCLA, at Oregon St). The win over Michigan St also doesn't look impressive anymore...they were #18 at the time due to a high preseason ranking but are now 5-6 and really scuffling.

I think the praise he's been getting from some corners is because most figured he'd be an unmitigated disaster there, which he has been better than, but that isn't saying too much.
