Investigation please! The cruel and unusual punishment of Jawaan Simpson for punishment for being caught with illegal substances must violate the fourth(?) amendment............ he was forced to miss a practice, and get this, perform community service! Wow, at least Stalling made David Palmer miss the North Texas State game. (Of course he was in the lineup when Bama played the Vols.)

Hand it to Mack Brown and the coaches like Fulmer who put disipline over winning and losing.

Sorry to get the Bammers riled up before October but they would have likely lost to Vandy without Simpson in the lineup and Shula knew this.

I do wish Shula would have at least PUBICLY punished Juwan. Hopefully we want have any more trouble.

I'm not worried about UT, they will self destruct soon enough.
You guys have been so obsessed with Fulmer and UT that you have let a potential dynasty develop in your back yard (Auburn), whipping your sorry buts every year!!

Oh, I might add Garth/Simpson had a illegal handgun in his possession when he was busted. I know of at least two Vol players that were booted by Fulmer (and I'm not a big Fulmer fan BTW) during his tenure.

There are rumors that Mari-Juwan-a Simpson was in the car with the daughter of a prominent Bama booster. For some reason, the identity of the other person in the car has been kept secret.

If true, Shula may not have had much choice in the matter.

Kinda like the kid from Texas, Marijuwan passed two drug test this summer, one for employment, and one after he was arrested to prove he didn't smoke the reefer. Juwan has been nothing but a class act, and I am 100% certain that anyone in the country including UT would love to have such a kid. I however don't agree with his punishment or lack thereof. I was just stirring the fire picking on you guys, and I didn't mean to start a flame war. The weapons charge was dropped as he proved that he took said weapon to the police dept, and had it checked. Cheer up guys, the Gators are coming to town!!!

I agree with 99% of your post GT. The only disturbing parts of the situation are the lack of a suspension or acknowledgement of punishment and Simpson's "ice-cream cone" comment. But hey, we haven't always handled it the right way either.

I will also say that the majority of Bama fans have indicated that they too thought the punishment was too light.

I agree ViB. I also would like a tougher overall personna from Coach Shula. As a favorite movie character of mine once said, "Sometimes you gotta get mean, I mean plum mad dog mean"!
