I would have preferred CBP to have been absent for all nine games instead of inserting himself for one game, in the middle of the suspension. Tony Jones looks like he is doing a yeomans job as coach after a rough start. IMO, we would have won the UConn game without the distraction of Brucie back for a solitary game.

I'm sorry but such bold statements require explanation past your gut feeling is we would have done better. To make a historical reference that's like if we had sent Patton's right hand man into battle as leader instead of him himself. When you have the option you always send the general.

Yeah the only coaching problem thus far is the lineup. Do we play 13. 10. 9. but that has been always TJ's responsibility with the rotation. The other part is player inconsistency and bad team play.

Guys don't you see Fields and hopson didn't catch passes because Bruce was coaching. It's that simple

This is just wrong on so many fronts where to start. If Tony could have talked the number 5 ranked team in the country into playing like a one SEC win terrible shooting, poor distributing, no inside game -- Ole Miss team then yes we would have likely won with TJ at the helm.

Tony is doing a better job of getting his tie the right length and no doubt is trying his hardest to use this as a springboard to a head coaching job but CBP does a better job coaching than TJ.

I like TJ but you could have plugged in Duke's coach ( whose name I can't spell) and we wouldn't have beaten U Conn.

Which team that Tony Jones has beaten has been in the same zip code talent-wise as UCONN?

Same zip code talent wise? Well georgia has atleast two future NBA players on its roster. I'd say theyre in the same zip code, still not as much though.

They've got a couple of guys, but my opinion of UGA is tainted by the fact that I saw them live get thoroughly handled by a mid level Atlantic Sun team where UGA's guards scored 0 points.

I respectfully disagree and think the notion that it had a negative effect is ridiculous, to be honest.

We would have lost by 15-20 if Jones coached the UCONN game. There is no way in hell we would have won with him. I really appreciate what Tony is doing but Jim Calhoun is one of the best coaches in the world and has outcoached Coach K in some of the biggest games of K's tenure at Duke (99 championship 2004 or 2005 Final Four). To say Tony Jones would have beat him is completely wrong. Calhoun completely outcoached Pearl by crashing the offensive boards with 5 players and dishing the ball out to frosh three point shooters that were wide open instead of making Kemba do everything. Calhoun, like Paterno, understands Pearl's offense and scheme very well since Pearl was mentored by Tom Davis. I never want to play UCONN or Louisville in the NCAA tournament b/c our chances of beating them are slim. See our Sweet Sixteen game against Louisville in 2008 in which our solid Vol squad got murdered.

Why? What distraction? It's not like Pearl has been in solitary confinement that last few weeks.

Comparing a coach, who in ten years of coaching in Division I, has never been past the Elite 8 to General George S. Patton is a stretch, IMO.

Just making a historical reference to get the point across, not comparing them as equals in their vastly different fields. I almost pulled a Dooley and used Erwin Rommel instead, which I guess would be more accurate considering they lost, but still.

Case in point . . . Yesterday, Thompkins and Leslie were a combined 2-17 from the floor.

SEC Commissioner SLIME doesn't have the authority to suspend Pearl for a non-SEC game. Am I right on this or not???????
