Just once I wish Oklahoma and Texas wouldn't start the season out ranked in the top 15. Texas isn't Texas anymore; quit ranking them high every year. Oklahoma has always been overrated. It's worse than Notre Dame's overratedness.

Vented, and UT won so I'm still happy.

I couldn't agree more. Texas always has a top 10 recruiting class every year but they're not consistent as they used to be.

Texas benefits from the cake schedule.

If they played our schedule last year they'd have been 6-6 or 5-7 too.

All one needs to do is watch this BYU/TX game to see just how overrated the Longhorns are. The BYU QB is shredding their defense.

Didn't OU start the season ranked at 16?

Texas will always be Texas. Their next hire will be a slam dunk and they'll be back in contention for championships, like always.

This is the exact same thing people say about UT right now. "They aren't UT anymore."

Just a little comparison since 2005.

Oklahoma

2005: Preseason 7th. Finished 22nd.
2006: Pre - 10th. Finished 11th.
2007: Pre - 8th. Finished 8th.
2008: Pre - 4th. Finished 5th.
2009: Pre - 3rd. Finished 25+.
2010: Pre - 7th. Finished 6th.
2011: Pre - 1st. Finished 16th.
2012: Pre - 4th. Finished 15th.

6 seasons finishing lower than preseason rank.

Texas

2005: Pre - 2nd. Finished 1st.
2006: 3rd to 15th.
2007: 4th to 10th.
2008: 11th to 4th.
2009: 2nd to 2nd.
2010: 5th to 25+.
2011: 25+ to 25+ (Highest rank 21)
2012: 15th to 25+

5 seasons finished lower than preseason rank.

So pretty much both teams usually underachieve.

Not to worry. That chit ends in Waco this year. Heres to 1/2 a hundred.

That's never been it's name.

And why in the world would Stoops be on the hot seat?

They've not been a major player Nationally for a while. I think He will be but I wouldn't be shocked if He stayed at OU. I'm always heard the game referred to as The Red River War.

It's been called the Red River Shootout and more recently Red River Rivalry.

The Red River War was an actual military campaign:

They were just Big 12 champs and playing in the fiesta bowl and Big 12 champs only 3 years ago. They spent all of last season ranked and fell out of the top 12 after a 10-2 season because they lost to A&M in their bowl game.

Stoop's seat - with his body of work in combination with the the last few years, especially in conference - at this point likely isn't even warm yet.

Thanks for the info man. Notice both teams finish out of top 25 yet next year they are ranked high. No one else would ever get that. However Texas has been the better team (except last couple years).
