Sickem, I'm impressed. You seem to have the sense to look deeper than John Q. FootballFan.

However, I disagree with 2 teams:

I believe you have Michigan State too low and Iowa way, way, way too overrated. They may not win 6 games.

To add: Pitt is going to be really good, possibly 2nd in the BE.

Colorado, who I said last year was going to be way better than 2-10 (and they were) is going to be hard pressed in 2008 to get to 7 or 8 wins. Watch out for them in 2009, though.

I also think the Big 10 is awful enough that Michigan will win more than 8 games, but who knows with a new coach.

I probably do have Michigan State too low, but I just have a gut feeling about Iowa this year. I think Ferentz is one of the best coaches in the country and he'll prove why.

My top 5 sleeper teams
1. Ole Miss: I really think Houston Nutt is going to make a huge difference down there. He'll probably never give them a SEC West title but he'll put them in bowl games which is a huge improvement.
2. Iowa: after having one of their worst seasons in recent history, I think Ferentz will have his team ready to go in 08.
3. Colorado: they've had a pretty young, but talented team the past couple of year and Dan Hawkins is a very good coach.
4. Clemson: many people have Clemson being a good team this year but not like me. I think their offense will be top 10 in the nation with Harper at QB, Spiller/Davis at RB and Kelley at WR. Maybe Tommy Bowden gets off the hotseat with a 11-1 season?
5. Washington: Yes, I think Jake Locker is the Tim Tebow of the West Coast. Again another team whose coach is on the hotseat. I think Locker will save Ty Willingham's job for atleast another year.

I could agree with that. But I think with a completely new offense, it will be hard for them to do it. However, once RichRod gets his type of players in there, they'll be very good. After Ohio State, it's pretty much a horse race. Wisconsin, Penn. State, Michigan, Michigan State, Iowa have good enough teams to be 2nd in the Big 10. Hell, even Purdue could be 2nd in the Big 10

You're right. Pitt is going to be good. LeSean McCoy is a great RB. But I like USF and Louisville a little bit more than Pitt. It might take a 9 win season for Dave Wannstedt to keep his job

I don't know, I have the exact opposite feeling on Iowa. I think they could potentially finish last in the Big 10 if the breaks go against them. They were lucky to go 6-6 last year, and now they've lost Albert Young.

UF #1? Really? Oh this is that reverse psychology stuff huh?:)

BTW I'd drop them down around 8th til the D shows anything.

Carlos Dunlap is going to have a break out season. He'll pick up where Harvey left. Also, Brandon Spikes is a good guy to anchor that defense and I'll be excited to see Will Hill in the secondary.

Pretty cool, I don't see Florida running the table though. I really don't see anybody running the table in the SEC. Oh, I also hope you are wrong about the National Champ.

I think Florida's best test is going to be the 2 SEC East teams, Georgia and Tennessee. Out of the west they have LSU at home this year, but I don't think LSU will be nearly as good has they have been. They go to Arkansas who I think will finish last in the West and Ole Miss at home this year too. Miami will be a test for them this as well. Florida/Tennessee the edge would go to Florida. Florida/Georgia is really a toss up at this point but I just don't trust Stafford.

I hope I am too. I don't like USC, but that defense is absolutely stacked with NFL talent. I think they'll be the best in nation in defense. Offense doesn't look as good, but I think Mark Sanchez is a better QB than John David Booty. They have a good RB combo of Johnson and McKnight and their WR's look pretty good with Hazelton and Ausberry

yeah Dunlap will be a beast..but the secondary still worries me..I know they were young and added alot of talent..but still...hope they prove me wrong.

I also think Florida should be odds-on favorite to win the SEC.

agreed. I think Florida is 1a and Georgia is 1b. My ranking of the SEC from best to worst teams

1. Florida
2. Georgia
3. Auburn
4. Tennessee
5. LSU
6. Alabama
7. South Carolina
8. Ole Miss
9. Miss. State
10. Kentucky
11. Arkansas
12. Vanderbilt

I think many would swap Ole Miss and Arkansas on my list, but I just don't see Arkansas being good at all this year
