I was at the game last night and have been unable to find a replay.

Was it an interception when our guy caught it falling out of bounds and threw it back to the other defender? Also, what happened that gave Vandy a 1st down after that? A defensive delay of game???
Of course it was not replayed on the screen at the stadium.

No both were clearly out of bounds when it happened.

The defensive delay of game came when Banks turned and looked at Slaughter and clapped twice to get his attention, apparently the rule is you can’t clap at all, so that gave them the first down.

No, both had feet out of bounds. They called Banks for clapping. It was technically right by rules, but one that no decent ref would actually call.

Both the DB and Banks were out of bounds by about 6 in. It was a good thought.

It was close but no, our defenders foot was out of bounds.

I would understand that call if he hadn’t clapped right as the ball was snapped so it didn’t make sense

Our guys foot was in the line
Banks was charge with clapping to replicate the QB clap.

Guy who caught it and threw it back was out of bounds before touching.

The penalty was on Jeremy Banks for clapping. If the QB claps for the snap then the D can't clap at all. Banks wasn't trying to deceive. He was just trying to get the attention to one of the guys behind him.

Was glad to see the effort there on that play though especially from Hadden. Complete opposite of what we saw from him last week when he was letting receivers catch the ball and waiting at the first down for them to run into him. Pretty easy to see after last nights game that something was going on with the defense last week that affected their effort.

And they missed the blatant hold on their center. In any case, we smoked em so it doesn’t matter, but officials pretty much let offensive linemen hold now it seems.

There is a rule about this.If a QB uses the clap for the snap at any time, for the remainder of the game the defense cannot clap for any reason, which would be simulating the snap.Banks clapped his hands, case closed. Banks helped our defense last night a lot, even if he did clap !

If it was a close game, the refs let that slide. When UT is up by 21, they give it. I wish all games were called fairly at all times but they just aren’t.
