Very encouraged Barnett, Hendrix , Vereen, etc. Pursuit across the field is ridiculous. They seem to hold the edge extremely well and not over commit also. Stripling doing work!

As they gain experience, this group of kids are going to get
better, and better, and better.

I was impressed when they ran a screen/swing pass toward the far sideline and Barnett was the second guy there finishing off the tackle

...And A.J., as good as he's looked the last couple of years, looked even better Sunday. Just flying all over the place - appears to be considerably faster to me even considering that USU might not be as fast as some other opponents we've seen.

I have been a vol and vol fan for many years and have seen a lot of Tennessee defenses, I don't know if I have ever seen one that flew around with such excitement and abandon as the one Sunday night. The win was great, but do you realize we are just beginning to see the talent of these young men and it will only get better. They bring the talent and this bunch of coaches show them how to use it. I have a lot more cause for excitement than I thought I would this year. GO VOLS:lolabove::lolabove::lolabove:

I tell you it was the best I've felt in years. Also, it's amazing what another year can do for mental toughness and physicality. AJ deserves some good to come his way with what he's been through. Maggitt also! Thanks guys!
GO VOLS!

AJ definetly has boosted his draft stock by improving his speed and pass coverage skills. The only flaw scouts saw in his game. Given its only been one game but AJ was a force Sunday. Not only on the field but also in keeping the fans in the game. Him and Maggitt were constantly jumping around keeping the fans up. Best atmosphere I've seen since 06 cal or 07 ga. I wasn't at USCe or GA last year so can't speak to those games. But a big Thank You to AJ for being a true VFL and staying his senior year!

Effort and team chemistry, thank God it's back. I don't know if team chemistry has ever been this evident. There always seemed to be one joker putting himself before the team even during winning years. It is invaluable.

It wasn't just AJ either.

McNeil looked really good, surprisingly good.
JRM, Cam was fantastic.

Take away one blown Coverage by Coleman and one run that went way too far and this was a near perfect performance.

Can't believe we only got one sack out of it though. But Chuckie did throw the ball away about 7 times. Smart on him.
