Guys, I am not a shrew or a nag, but I am going to keep saying this until it sinks in. PROFANITY is NOT allowed on this board, no matter how creatively you disguise it. A$$ and M******F****** and whatnot WILL be edited without warning or apology. Please make my job easier and do your part. We are all intelligent, classy people and our communication should reflect that.

I mean no disrespect when I say this........

But, I don't think anyone here wants to post cusswords just to post them, and I also don't think that they want to feel like they are posting on Disney.com just because some people choose to let young kids read somewhere that they know MAY have an H-word or D-word on occasion.

There is a fine line between the MF word and someone using the H or D word to emphesis a point.

No one wants to be disrespectful LIO, but no one wants to have every word they type disected either.

Then don't type them. Rules are rules. I wasn't the only one who decided profanity wouldn't be allowed, even if I AM the only one who tries to enforce it. But, take it up with Freak. It's his board. I'll defer to his decision.

I understand you are a teacher and you have to have a zero policy on cursing. I also understand you are one of the people that allows their child to read this board, and that is your right, the problem is, if someone decides to let thier kid play in a street, they have to understand that a car might hit them. They cant stand in the street and direct every single vehicle away from thier house.

I want to be clear that I'm not trying to attack you in any way. I only posted these thoughts here because you are openly discussing it on the board. I hope you understand where I am coming from.

I don't have to let my daughter read this board and I don't want to come across as someone working for the Morality Police. I just find it sad that vulgarity has replaced well thought out commentary and respectfulness. But that's just me.

Y'all just say or do whatever you like. I won't say another word.

You don't need to direct that at LIO. I set those rules initially so you should take it up with me. The bottom line is that everyone is not going to be happy no matter what the rules are.

I guess the only flaw in your kid in the street analogy is that I can let my kid play in the street and stop all traffic from being on that street. I can stand in the street and direct every vehicle away from my house. :p That's the fun part of being Admin. :lol:

I can put auto filters on words that we disallow that will keep them from being posted for the most part. It's my fault for not coming up with a more clear set of rules. The mods and I will meet and come up with some precise rules for everyone.

Sorry for all the confusion.

I know you were, doozer. No harm done. As far as "effin" goes, that's totally up to Freaky and the other Mods. I cannot be objective on the subject of profanity but have agreed to abide by whatever they decide.

It could stop as many of them as I can be creative enough to come up with although there will always be creative ways to get around them. But I know what you are saying.

I don't see why some have such a strong desire to cuss in order to get their point across. I cuss like a sailor in real life and very rarely do I ever feel the need to type questionable words on this board. If I can can post 24,000 times without doing it, I'm pretty sure everyone else can.

If anyone is REALLY having difficulty avoiding profanity, I welcome them to drop in on PJs to spout off and then return to VN.

EDIT: Freak pretty much beat me to my point... :lol:
