It’s nice that they are seemingly in decline . However, I’m not yet at the point where I feel like we need to look at the silver lining of a season that is 3 games old.At least that bama dynasty seems to finally be coming to a conclusion. One of the challenges Tennessee has had to overcome in recent years, is having our two most centrally located rivals (uga and bama) at historical levels of successView attachment 581098.
What our opponents do weighs heavily in our ability to get back to the top. If you think Bama and Georgia being the number one, and number two teams in college football over the last 7+ consecutive years hasn’t damaged Tennessee you are crazy. Both of them automatic losses every year for us but they’ve also meant automatic losses on the recruiting trail. Over and over again. It’s all great to act up and say you don’t care about them. You only care about us. But our road back to the top is a hell of a lot easier if Bama and Georgia were to fall back into the pack some. That’s a silver lining. I could care less that they are on a downswing. Hell we been there for years. I want to keep playing them and win like last year. I believe even in their downswing, as you say, they will be favored. Let’s worry about us and building our own dynasty.
I agree it’s too early to be looking for a silver lining. Just assuming that we are going to take a big step back this year due to the office since sputtering so much and of course already having an embarrassing SEC loss this early in the season. But you are absolutely right, there’s a lot of season left and we can absolutely turn the narrative around.Beat me to it. Sad to be looking for season silver linings after game 3 and adding insult to injury looking at bad times of your opponents for that silver lining.
I'll be shocked to see much improvement in team 2023. Getting Mays and Mincey back in the OL is our greatest hope.I agree it’s too early to be looking for a silver lining. It’s still a huge positive for Tennessee to see Bama fall back down to earth some. Makes our ascent much more possible.
Hopefully the case, but let's not write them off so quickly. A good start to shoveling dirt on the bama/saban grave will be Kiffy finally getting a notch on his belt.At least that bama dynasty seems to finally be coming to a conclusion. That’s funny. I have to agree. I would say the biggie here isn’t the pleasure from their declINE. It’s the opportunity that the decline could create… So long as we can capitalize. It’s really hard to get back on top when your two biggest rivals are in the greatest runs of their programs lifetime. Tennessee is recruiting many of the same players that Bama and UGA are after do you to the proximity. The pleasure derived from bama's decline is very short lived. The displeasure derived from UT's failures is everlasting.

When Tennessee was on top of Georgia and Bama were available for Tennessee to go in and get kids out of. So to me it’s the pleasure of seeing Tennessee get back on top and every little bit helps.
