Just wondering if there are any other Simms or Clausens brothers, and if so, do they play football? Wouldn't mind having another football legend legacy behind the helm of our offense.

You are speaking of Rick Clausen of football legacy fame? And another Simms......and saying it with a straight face?

Maybe not Rick so much. But Matt wasn't successful at winning for the same reason Bray wasn't: coaching. He got into the NFL for a reason, and was just as successful there as Casey Clausen or Erik Ainge.

Jimmy Clausen wasn't all that successful at ND either. His last year was O.K. and he was drafted, but the Simms-Clausen pipeline is over, with mixed results.

Rick Clausen has WAY more big wins than Tyler Bray at Tennessee. To say nothing of his older brother.

Simms got Dooley'ed. I personally think Simms should never have been pulled from the USCe game. Bray lost that game with nearly his first pass. Simms held the ball too long, but again, Chaney and Dooley proved beyond doubt they don't really do QB coaching.

All of the Clausen's and Simms brothers are through both high school and college. Sorry, you going to have to look elsewhere.

Good question!!!

The only legacy player I would take now is a at the kicking position. Hope and pray we get the Berry bros also.

Are u joking man? We don't want any other clausens or Simms. Casey was the only decent qb of the bunch. Would mind if there were some more mannings though

Matt Simms is possibly the worst starting QB I can remember and I'm talking 30+ years. It wouldn't have mattered if we had dug up Bill Walsh to coach him.

I call BS - Nick Stepens was worse and he had the best coach we've had in 2 decades vs Simms who got Dooley'd

Are you talking about Matt or Chris? Matt got a cup of coffee with the Jets in the preseason and that's it. Clausen signed with the Chiefs and played in NFL Europe for a season, and Ainge was with the Jets for 3 years. So if you meant Matt, no he hasn't been as successful in the NFL as those two.

He's been a joke in the NFL; on top of that it's been said he's a grade-A d-bag.

It's a tight battle among Nick Stephens, Joey Matthews, and Matt Simms. You can call it being "Dooley'd" but if he had shown a slight ability to manage the offense he wouldn't have lost his job to two different true freshmen in back to back years.

Yeah, I'd take Trent Dilfer over Dan Marino any day. The Dilfmeister won a Superbowl. What did Marino ever do?

Freaking morons.
