Simple physics

There is no doubt that Auburn was/is faster. One other problem is that our CBs seem to be easily blocked by their WRs while the QB or RB runs right past them. We need more speed and more strength.

yes, we need speed. but.....we had defenders at the perimeter and they could not fight off the blocks. fighting off of a block has nothing to do with speed but EVERYTHING to do with desire, heart, and the pride that says you are not going to block me. you can argue that this is player or coach.

i'm not going to trash jancek at this point in the "process." this isn't his team. i will say i'm not very impressed with his past coaching resume and never thought we was the "best" d-cord available at the time CBJ hired him.

There is another way...it's called depth. If you have 130 players on your roster who are 3 star talent you can keep up with 4-5 star talent. oregon, Mizzou, Auburn, Stanford. We have guys, we have coaches.... we don't have depth.

My final thoughts:

They are awful.

As long as the coaching staff understands why, it's not all that important that I do as I can't do anything about it anyway.

If they are faster they can beat you to the corner, only the posters on Volnation cannot see that.

Watching FSU and Bama is exciting because Jones is recruiting those types of athletes. There is no other way, if you wanna compete in the top 5 you have to recruit in the top 5.

Go CBJ and Go Vols

I don't know. I see us get beat more often because of poor angles than poor speed.
