Just curious about position projections for the DL commits we have. Lambert and Barnett are listed at 275 and 270 respectively while Hendrix checks in at 264 and Henderson at 222. Will Lambert and Barnett play end or tackle and does the coaching staff prefer lighter linemen? Though they don't come around often, it sure is nice to have linemen of McCullers' stature to clog the middle.

Lambert will be in the 280-285 range. Still will have obrien and saulsberry at around 290. Carr at 290 ish. And Clark at 320. Outside of big Dan there won't be much a difference than this team.

Well they will probably gain a few pounds in the weight room but I like the idea of taking DE and converting them because you have a faster Defense that way. I mean a 290lb DT isn't a small guy and will still have a lot of quickness. But I do expect they will sign at least one 300lb+ guy

When they get here and hit the weight room all these numbers will change. They will be monsters!

agree with you guys, I will say look at Mizzou's D-line and they are doing OK and are more on the 275 side and fast. We will start to have the depth where we can maybe even go with two different D-line packages.

In this 4-3 you need one big, anchor DT to play the 3 technique or on the nose. The other is likely to be quicker and in the 290 range, give or take 10 lbs and play the 3 and 5. Same weight proportions for the WDE and SDE, just lower weights with more speed and pass rush ability. The weights you are seeing on sites are estimates based on info provided from the players, coaches and camps primarily. They can be off a bunch and are not always current.

I dont care how much they weigh i just want some nasty guys that are always in the backfield and blow people up not just hole cloggers because they will just let u clog that hole and run it behind you or beside you!! I want some quick guys that hit you in the freaking mouth and spit on you after they push u back into your own qb

need to get back to the days when we had guys like John Henderson, and Leonard Little Hope coach Jones gets us back to that. I miss those days.

They'll keep their speed and athletic abilities as they eat better, more nutritional food, work the weights and grow bigger with more muscle.

The size of their body frames will make gaining muscle weight alot easier in their freshman years and I would guess that they'll be coached to move around on the D line so they'll know what they're doing and can play DT or DE in certain situations.

Our options on D line with this recruiting class are awesome.

speed, speed, speed= pass rushers.....Think how we WANT to play on offense, uptempo, fast, scoring a lot of points, kind of like Oregon East. Would make sense that you want DLinemen who can rush the passer, LB's that can run, cover, and make plays in space...Think about the Manning led Colts; while D was probably a weak spot for mos of manning's run in Indy, they were built to play the pass....they knew they were going to score points and put other teams in a position where they have to sling the ball around late in the game....that style can struggle against big physical road graders, but i think we can see how this style of D fits what we will do on O eventually(i hope).
