Who do wish would have stayed their 4th season as senior and not gone to the NFL?

Jason Witten and Donte Stallworth.

those are two good ones...i would have liked to see what heath Shuler could have done in 94 had he stayed....our qb situation that year was less than desirable....of course it worked out for the long run, but i just wonder....

Also, Albert Haynesworth...wish he would have stayed another year.

I think Jason took a financial bath by not coming back for his senior year.

Someone gave him some very bad advice on where he'd go in the draft and it cost him big time.

He's doing great with Dallas, but it isn't likely you can ever make back the money you lose by not being drafted in the top 15 of the
first round. I am convinced he would have been had he stayed.

Tough question. It seems to me that most of the Vols who have gone to the NFL and made it onto a roster were seniors. Probably has something to do with poor player development but I am hard pressed to think of anyone.

In hindsight . . . Heath Shuler should have put off the NFL as long as he could.

Shuler wouldn't have been ready for the mental side of the NFL game if he had been granted 10 years in college.

The injuries messed up Shuler too, but I'm afraid you're right.

Why did Dallas draft another TE so high? Didn't make "cents' to me!

Most players who make the roster from any school are seniors. They are just more prepared anmd more mature. It makes a huge difference in getting started off on the right foot in the NFL. Most NFL coaches prefer Sr over Jr.

still a pretty high pick when you got JW, don't ya think?

Well they went with Defense first which is what they have done for a while now. I thoguht they would go another round before getting a TE, but it all depends on where they had him graded and the value he seemed to have on their board. Not a big surprise.

But they do need a TE that can block a little better. That is still the only weakness JW has. He is getting better but still needs work.

I would think so....Fasnio wasn't even the best TE on the board. If I'm not mistake, I think Pope was still there

Pope may have been but he has one of the same issues JW has. Blocking and the Tuna wants a TE that can block as well as catch. Pope has size but does not have the speed of JW nor the hands. So my thinking is they went with more of a Campbell type of TE. Good blocker solid reciever.

at least Kelly Washington left early!!!!

I'd rather KW would have played his final year and changed his attitude. He was very talented.

Yea Washington was talented BUT his main concern was not to get hurt so he could get to the NFL. he played half @$$ his last year.

Here we go again. I was no fan of KW's mouth, but I don't think you can say he ever gave less than 100% on the field. On the last play of his college career, he got hurt while fighting for extra yardage after a catch against Georgia.
