If he's not making threes and he's a liability on defense then why the hell does Pearl have him in there? Anybody have a clue at all? Does anybody have a close to justifiable reason? Try to make me believe.

Because Pearl is a terrible coach that obviously has no clue in what he is doing.

I can't stand McBrick. He had one good game vs. Kansas and that was obviously a fluke.

Wow, I actually really like McBee and would rather see him on the floor than Woolridge or Pearl. I think he is a really smart player that can shoot very well. Pearl on the other hand is good for 5-10 minutes a game for defensive purposes ONLY and Renaldo can play post D, but jacks too many 3's. I wouldn't call McBee our token white player because we also have Pearl.

Tobias looks like a star and Field/s may be taking over Williams starting position soon if he doesn't step up.

What has he done to make you think he can shoot very well? Or that he is really smart on the court?

Defense and no offense is better than no offense or defense.

I like McBrick better than swiper and those are really our only options right now seeing how Mcrae is in the doghouse or w/e is going on with that. When K.Hall is 100% and we get Maymon we should be able to remove them from the equation and just play with a big lineup in certain situations. I Also would not mind seeing Golden and Goins on the floor together

Comparing McBee to Woolridge and Pearl is pointless. I don't like McBee, never have, but I think he's our best option for back-up SG for the time being. I would guess Bone will relieve him when he gets healthy. Either that or McRae becomes back-up SG if Maymon plays SF when eligible.

Mcrae and Woolridge should both be in over Mcbee. Mcbee contributes absolutely nothing at the moment. Mcrae has potential, he just hasn't gotten his confidence yet which can be gained in the non-conference. Woolridge is a big body that is at least capable of a garbage bucket now and then or the occasional streak of scoring.

Woolridge will be replaced by Maymon when he becomes eligible. Hall can battle with Pearl for the backup at the 4 and hopefully overtake him. But I don't see Pearl benching his son. I'm fine with Pearl getting PT though.

yeah. if mcbee doesnt start to find his range and make some shots, its time for the pine for him. mcrae need to be on the floor more. because of his length and athelctism. he is not a bad 3 point shooter either. mcrae could be the next jp prince except a better shooter.

I really want to buy into Skylar McBee as a shot maker but sadly I am struggling to see it happening. He looks constantly hesitant to pull the trigger. It would be one thing if he was just a little out of rhythm with his jumper.... but he isn't even close right now.

Let's see what has McBee done that makes me think he can shoot very well?

McBee shot over 88 percent from the FT line last year. He shot almost 33 percent from 3 last year, which is a good percentage. He was a walk on fr. that played on a loaded team throughout the season, which is pretty impressive for someone who was not supposed to contribute. He won the Kansas game by making a huge shot at the end of the game, which was one of the biggest wins in our school's history and provided a major spark in other games as well.

Additionally, Pearl recently said that his defense was better than Golden's and he may be able to help out at the PG position if Golden ever plays the 2. I'm not sure what all the hype is about Hall and Woolridge. Hall can't make two free throws to save his life and his form is horrible. His a great defensive player, offensive rebounder and finisher when he gets the ball off the glass, but his jump shot and offensive post moves need serious work.

Why do I think McBee is smart? Because he understands angles and knows how to get loose balls, makes smart passes to open players when he is on the court and does not make stupid decisions like get in foul trouble. He has a good feel for the game, much like Tobias Harris and Trae Golden.

Nobody plays significant minutes in college basketball because they are good free throw shooters. At the end of a close game, maybe.

33% from three for someone who is supposed to be your knock down dependable shooter is an indictment rather than compliment. Its not that good.

Kid needs to hit 40+% or he isnt worth playing considering his defense

I am going to echo the sentiments from above in saying that 33% would not be getting the job done. Not only did he shoot 31% from beyond the arc, he shot 32% from the field overall. That is not getting the job done.

1)He's on partial scholarship.

2)When you're a "3 point specialist" you better be well in the 40 percent range.

3)Every backcourt in the SEC would love for McBee to see significant minutes.

If Renaldo can continue to improve as Pearl says he has, McRae find some more consistency, and Bone coming back, we won't see Skylar in significant minutes.
