Slaughter to corner changed the defense..

Moving Slaughter to corner was a great move.

Not the fastest player, but is very experienced and hits like a truck. Perfect for zone coverage that we have been in lately.

He is just physical enough to make playing man possible.

Great change by the staff.

He was incredible. And maybe he’s not the fastest, but he didn’t look slow for the position, either. Turnage was also really good. The secondary was amazing.

I mentioned this last night in a thread but Wesley Walker stood out last night too. Couple of big time TFLs. Reminded me of Theo Jackson type plays from last year.
Walker has been really good in his relatively limited time all year. I've been wanting him to play more over McDonald. McDonald has been decent enough, but I think Walker has been better.

Next year:

Hadden and Turnage at CB
Slaughter as the STAR
McDonald to Safety

That’s how I would roll.

This Defense is much improved, and look just right here in time for those puppies!! I think this whole team will play like they have nothing to lose this Saturday. They will know it all lies in this game and both sides of the ball will be ready!

What makes you think he isn't fast? UK has two fast young WR's. I didn't see anyone running away from him.

Also, he did something I've been asking for... he played physical off the LOS. He broke up their timing.

Once again, playing to their players strengths. He wants to hit. So maybe we need someone like him to play more zone (which we struggled in vs Florida and Alabama).

I didn't say he was slow, he has been pulled away from at safety a few times. Plus just top end speed isn't there. I think he is fast enough.

Lol I woke up thinking of posting this exact thread. Slaughter directly involved in 2 of our three picks. Forced the one that Kiwan got. Got his own and to top it off dropped another. He gives me serious honey badger vibes.

eh. Tough call!

I hear ya, but McDonald has been a hauss in run support! Decent in coverage the few times they throw at him.
Whatever reps they are giving to each now...just keep doing it. It's working well. Walker has been money tho.

Yup looks sexy. I am looking forward to our secondary next year being much improved over this version and honestly the whole team seems to get better each week at every position. My one fear for the success the team is having this year is off-season poaching of this coaching staff.

Not sure if the win in whole or partial to UK being banged up at QB. And, not sure, but I think CRod still has rust AND got serious aches from the hits put on him. At one point, it appeared his coach talked to him, and he shook his head. I don't think he wanted to go back on the field.
