There are many sleeper type prospects in last years recruiting class and early talks of several for this class. The occasional sleeper can be a great addition to the team and even end up being a star.. BUT championship teams are not made up of sleepers. I dont mind a diamond in the rough dotted throughout the roster, but to get back to where we Vols fan want to be its going to take less sleepers and more proven championship caliber players. Just a thought based on trends I see on the boards. VTIF.

A lot of people don't realize just how bad some of Fulmer's latter classes were. Even the highly rated ones like '07 didn't materialize. I think our last two classes were huge improvements over most of the ones from this past decade.

This is something that needs to be taken into account with Dooley and recruiting... By that I mean he will bring in kids that he thinks will be around for 3-4 years...Saban is really good at that... it might not result in a top 3 class (imo Dooley will never bring in a top 3 according to rivals)...

But look at the 07' class...top three on paper...and we all know how that class turned out...

Saban wasn't coaching some of the highest "star-rated" players this year and last year on his team. Javier Arenas was a 3* with only one other offer from Florida Atlantic. Most of our defensive seniors/juniors were 3* as high schoolers. Now given, its always good to go after the most physically ready and best athletes, but alot of times there is more than meets the eye. Usually, especially this early, if a coach like Saban or Dooley gives someone a committable offer, they have enough talent or potential to play in a big time program. Dooley has a good eye for talent (see LSU recruiting). Coaches have a much better grasp of star ratings than any recruiting site can.

Aren't a large majority of the 2011 prospects "sleepers" at this point? These kids haven't even been to the offseason camps? Just sayin.......
