Slive is using this to send a message to the other coaches in the conference (non basketball included). The SEC suspending a coach is new territory for the conference and this sends a message. You just have to wonder if the conference would ever suspend a Saban or Meyer though.

No they will not suspend Meyer and Saban. And Slive will not ever suspend Calapari at Kentucky. The man just tried to sigh a player who got paid to play in Turkey. At least the NCAA said no.

At this very moment? Slive would suspend Saban and Meyer. He would not suspend Chizik tho. Slive is about there here and now, and who presently gives the conference its best shot at a title.

I think Slive wouldn't dare do this anywhere else except at Tennessee and that's because we've got one wimpy boy as our AD. I remember how we got hosed in the bowl selection process during MH's first year as AD. We tied for the east division and didn't get in the SECCG and got booted all the down to the Cotton Bowl (or Chik-Fil-A). Nothings changed, the guy gets no respect and Tennessee would be much better off with a respected grown up as our AD. Fire Mike Hamilton !!!

One thing I think is certain, we won't ever see another SEC coach fess up to telling the NCAA a story after watching how Pearl has been drawn and quartered.

Well said. Hamilton and Pearl both need to go. Hamilton has made us a laughing stock.

Except Calipari did nothing wrong and Kentucky fully complied with the NCAA about eligibility. GET. OVER. IT.

You mean besides hiring, not signing, hiring, a Turkish professional basketball player. Most amateur organizations (not Mike Slive though) take a dim view of that. Plus, with all that's happened in Corruppt Cal's previous spots, you didn't see Slive telling UK not to hire him like he did when Kiffin wanted to hire O.
Face it, Slive is as crooked a human as has ever been in this conference...the Bear and Rupp included.

Saban, Meyer, and Squid are all exceptions to this rule. Promise you that.

I agree. One thing about Slive IMO is he is not impartial. Not bringing SEC football officiating standards to a national average is suspect. All bout them Benjamins Slivey.

I miss the good ole days with CM Newton. Wonder if he is realted to Cam?:lolabove:

Are people seriously trying to argue that something should be done to Kentucky because of a player that never even played in a game?

So they should lie about lying? Even though the lying about a fairly minor violation was what has brought all this about.

Yes. In fact, I think that the entire "state" of Kenturkey should be booted out of the real United States and forced to merge with Guatemala.
