Watching espn and wondering how people feel about these small schools playing the big ones by and make all that $$! It seems that the small schools HAVE to do it to make the $$ to pay supplement their school. BUt it really isn't sportsmanship.
I don't have a problem with these games. It's a great recruitment tool for some of these smaller schools for kids to get a chance to play at places like FSU and Okie State. It's the biggest stage they'll probably ever be on so even if you get killed, at least you get to play against good teams in cool environments. Also, it allows the bigger teams to flex muscle and work their depth chart. Not to mention...great money!
These types of games have been around for years. I guess I am confused as to why this is an issue now. Call me tired of the 'nanny state' thinking they have to protect people from themselves and make decisions for them.
It also gives the players to showcase their talent against the big boys. There are d1 talent on the small schools. I see your point it's always happened at least get paid for it.
