I think we should you this more and blitz alot. our corners are doing a great job and could stay with the receivers for the 3 seconds it would take AJ or SAPP to bust a quarterback and put him on his azz.

Okay, but....what is the "smurf package"????

And AJ might not be the best guy to run the QB down.

Defensive package with smaller, quicker guys on the line for pass rushing. I know it was used(successfully) in the UGA game on third down several times.

You, not being a azz here promise, and everyone else need to just let it go on what happened in the Bama game. Jancek didn't have any idea of how to stop Bama, and he coached scared. I love Jancek, and I'm a full 100% believer in him, but he coached so passive Saturday that AJ had all day to throw the ball. Now, in terms of blitzing with smaller packages, mainly Walls and O'Brien/Carr at DT, expect to see it a lot come Saturday after not doing it at all against Bama and failing miserably.

Works good unless you're playing a guy like McCarron.
First possession he audibled back into the run and with the extra beef advantage walked Yeldin into the end zone.

Yeah, this. However, if you're playing a spread team like Mizzou, there might be some potential for using it more often, but can we change the name to "speed rush" or something, just not feeling the whole smurf thing.

No kidding about the extra beef advantage. We were looking like middle schoolers out there.

Whew...when I 1st saw the title of this thread I thought Papa Smurf, Handy Smurf, and Farmer Smurf were comparing their junk.

I was glad it had to do with a smaller lineup upon opening.

Can't blame Jancek , he didn't realize we were playing Alabama , as he thought we were playing the "red team"
